We have so many wonderful memories at The Roof!! From family anniversaries to work Christmas dinners, The Roof simply cannot be beat.
Simply the best buffet in town, with quality ingredients to boot Try it, you'll definitely be glad that you did.
Oh, and during the Christmas season the enhanced buffet features unlimited snow crab legs However this is only one of many wonderful entrees!

Had our anniversary dinner here! Frist time for both of us! And I really expected more! I give the view 5 stars! But the food was okay! It wasn’t what I expected! I mean as fancy as this restaurant was I didn’t expect a buffet! But the food overall was okay , tasted like Chuck A Rama , and Golden Corral! I could have went there and pay less , then come here and pay $40 per person! . And our waiter was not even that great either! I’m disappointed about my experience here! I’m sorry but I expected a lot more! ... BUT 5 STAR FOR THE VIEW IT WAS JUST BREATHTAKING. Beautiful.

The Roof is a classic dining experience for the Salt Lake area. My suggestion would be to at least try it once and see what you think. My impressions--the view is fantastic and there probably is no better vantage point in town from which to enjoy a meal on a special occasion; the price is meant to be exclusionary I believe, which helps keep it from being too crowded and the mood relaxed so this is a good thing, but I can't say that the food quality merits the price. The steak doesn't taste like its been prepared by a really experienced chef and the best tasting thing there for me are the side dishes and cheese options. There are always a host of desserts that make it fun as well. I often tell people that if they are interested more in great tasting food than in the experience itself, they should go to a nice restaurant that charges half the price.

Gorgeous view, enjoyable atmosphere. Staff is very nice and wonderful people, but unfortunately completely unprofessional - every time I was done with the plate I had to wait 15 minutes for it to be cleaned or eventually ask the waiter to take it away; utensils were never changed, I was never offered any desert beverages - and this restaurant was not understaffed.
Among all the dishes these was no vegetarian options, except of ratatouille that I could cook better myself. Mashed potatoes was tasteless, fried potatoes were over cooked.
Not a single effort was made for desert menu - they just serve cakes from closest deli!!!
There are so many places that can offer much better quality service and food for $50, so I don’t understand why this place has 4 star rating.

Scenery is amazing. Atmosphere is enjoyable. Food is mostly good (dessert was best). However, $50 a plate to stand in line. I had to eat 4 plate fulls to make it worth it. In my mind. Not the most romantic, but if you wanna pork out on "fancy" food, this is the place for you.
