Cute place putting up some competition for Calvert Woodley just down Connecticut Avenue. Their only true advantage over CW, though, is the dine in portion with alcoholic beverages and some hot foods. It kind of fills the niche left behind by Marvelous Market and adds a little something extra. It's not for me, but I can see the appeal of you live in the neighborhood.

Such a cute local market. Ate breakfast here during my stay in D.C. and I was very pleased.

I like the food, crowd, and location. The hot bar food can be hit or miss but the bar selection more than makes up for it. I love how many Rt. 11 chips they have and the staff is amazing!

Another Van Ness' new disappointment, unfortunately because of ONE person, but this is the proof of how powerful first impressions can be. Whoever took care of me and my order of one (very expensive) slice of cake ($5 for a minute strawberry tart-like piece). This guy, probably one of the managers, should stick to whatever he is doing and not interact with customers. He just does not have it. First, as I was browsing, he pushed for a decision; then, he took "forever" at the register. Perhaps he was more focused on the conversation he was having using his head-piece and showing off than in making a good first impression with a customer. Put that guy back in the office, sirs.
