My favourite kitchen store, hands down. They have such a wide range of products, including things I haven't seen anywhere else, and things for every price range. Their own brand is excellent in quality and very reasonably priced. I LOVE their sale section and have found plenty of bargains there over the years. And every staff member I have interacted with has been friendly and helpful - even once when I broke something (worth around $8) - I offered to pay but they wouldn't hear of it and cheerfully cleaned up. I always go in when I'm in City Centre. I love it :)

While the concept was cool, the cooking class was not worth $85 per person. My wife and I signed up for the "Date Night" cooking class. There were way too many people crammed into the kitchen. Groups were left with people standing around doing nothing while others prepared/cooked food. Also, I was hoping to learn new cooking techniques or ideas. The "chef" merely rattled off instructions from a sheet of paper. A simpleton like me could have easily taught that class! :-P
Again, the idea is pretty cool for date night, but save yourself the $85/person and impress your significant other with a couple of good steaks and a nice bottle of wine from HEB.

I contacted the cooking class director and he returned my call and was very helpful. I appreciate how gracious he was

I am with a bachelorette party of 11 that decided to book a cooking class with Sur La Table City Centre. Well all 10 bachelorette's booked their tickets timely, like they should. I, of course, forgot and by the time I went to order my spot, they were sold out. I called Sur La Table to see if they could help me right this wrong, I am one of the 4 bridesmaids, I HAVE to be there! Well, after multiple phone calls back and forth, they were able to make it work so that I will not miss this monumental celebration in my friend's life! I want to recognize Hannah for an exceptional commitment to customer service and helping me find a resolution for a problem that was not her fault and 100% mine. She returned all of my phone calls and worked diligently to come up with different solutions until one worked for both Sur La Table and for me. Thank you Hannah for the effort, it is incredibly appreciated!

Sales associates more busy chatting amongst themselves than assisting customers. Power cord to an appliance on display went missing and they did not even attempt to search for it in order to demonstrate how the appliance will work or appear when powered on. In the end, I was told to just look at the powerless electronic appliance and the box that it comes in. When I asked how does that model of the appliance compare to another model produced by the same brand but carried at a different store, the answer they gave me was: "That one is just $99, so that says it all." The powerless one we were looking at was $149, $49 more, but the $99 has been a best seller for years. I am not sure what kind of extra bells and whistles they wanted me to assume I can get from the extra $49. Sure, the cookware and tool they carry are great, they practically sell themselves. It makes me wonder what purpose does those sales associates serve then? Perhaps just to ring up the merchandise, that is after you have on your own figured out the answers to your questions and managed to track down the different pieces of the appliance in their store for them.
I figured their pretentious statement and behavior was not helpful at all, so I left and drove to the store in River Oaks Shopping Center, whose sales associates turned out way more courteous and helpful (went to the storage room to search for a power cord from another box, demonstrated the appliance, and answered my questions honestly).
