Great selection but wow....steep, very steep prices! I have been able to find the same items at other stores or online for far less.

There is no question in my mind where to go when it comes to the kitchen. From cooking techniques to equipment to spices, I always feel smarter when I leave and more confident over my stovetop and inspired to try new things, at this location in particular because it's a little bit slower here so I get that one-on-one pampering I can't get anywhere else, plus it's more relaxing to browse without the stampedes and that's the way i (and most if I'm not entirely mistaken) like it. It's safe to say I have a full Williams Sonoma kitchen, which means my house smells good at all times!
I find myself craving various world cultures' foods often, from Peruvian to Persian, and this store almost always seems to have the stuff to make it happen. They do the often hard to find stuff yet manage to have all the basics on top of that, like the fenugreek I needed for a Persian soup yet sporting a plethora of fine olive oils from around the world. They don't just embrace globalization here, it's their business. But when seasonal stereotypes phase into vogue, you can expect the highest quality and best themed selections to highlight your gatherings. I can't begin to count the number of birthdays occasions and holiday times I've found presents here because you can't go wrong with gifting culinary.
My kitchen knowledge was born at this store. Did you know that using anything other than a wooden cutting board wears your sharp knives out much faster? Why would they want to tell me this? Isn't in their vested interest to burn out my edges faster so I come back to buy another? But not only did I get that advice here, but oh, hey, you get free knife sharpening for life! Pretty sure they care about my experience more than the dollars. I know I prefer the heaviness of a German blade versus the thin Asian ones after getting the chance to compare them on real food, like test driving a car.
The other week I happened to need an insulated cup that doesn't leak and I wasn't surprised to find a huge table of them in different sizes and keeps drinks cold 24 hours. Now I don't leave home without my cold drink and don't have to worry about putting it in my bag and leaking.
And last year I got a really cool rectangular pan that lets me grill massive amounts of food for our growing family and a 3rd cast iron pan because they give nice marks while flavoring my food and are good for life; I'll never go back to cancer causing nonstick. If I wouldn't have received an expert explanation of how to clean cast iron (which is more like a ritual now) I certainly wouldn't have considered.
Of course they even have cooking classes with their on staff chefs, and famous people like Alton brown come by to give demos and promote their new books. And there is always food cooking or drinks waiting for your sampling.
It's hard not to leave exited, full or broke from this location. You've been warned!

This is our go-to place....we love the kitchen indulgences, and spent over $800 on some kitchen gadgets. The store smelled like freshly baked cookies and they were sampling ice cream or gelato from their new ice cream machine demo. We left happy!
