Texas Retina Associates

I was sent to this location as a referral to be cleared for LASIK; my surgeon wanted a second opinion. This review will cover both of my appointments here. Overall, nice front desk staff, mediocre technicians, a doctor who overbooks himself and an office that runs inefficiently. Both appointments I've arrived 10+ mins beforehand and filled out all necessary paperwork online days before my appointment. The front desk has been very easy to communicate with and check-ins have been smooth. The experience starts to go downhill from here. I will preface that no one has been rude or inconsiderate, just very disconnected, not personal and the wait time is absolutely ridiculous. My first visit, my wait time was about 45 mins (after my initial appointment time) before I saw the first round of technicians. I then had to wait another hour and 45 mins before I saw the actual doctor. When I did see him, almost 2.5 hrs after I initially checked in, he was apologetic and polite and mentioned he was playing catch up from being on vacation. The whole time I was with him was less than 10 minutes but, he seemed knowledgeable. I'm completely understanding of playing catch-up and accepted his word that this was not the norm. Which is why I came back for a follow up (post LASIK). Checkout was just as smooth as check in. My experience on the second visit was similar. I waited about 30 minutes (after my designated appointment time) before I saw the first technician. She didn't appear to know why I was in, just doing the routine check. She asked me standard questions but none were personalized to my visit. I waited another 40 minutes to be seen by the doctor and my total time with him was less than 5 minutes. I don't recommend this office unless you don't mind waiting over an hr after your designated appointment time to be seen by a doctor. If this is normal for a doctors office (I don't go to many) this is really unacceptable.

Had Floaters and flashing lights in one eye, went to RIT on I-20 and was turned away by the receptionist. Drove on down to TRA and the receptionist immediately begin taking my info.

The building is very nice and the waiting room is very large with multiple televisions on the walls. My wife and I have been here twice to have treatments for her eyes. The doctor and staff have been very friendly and have taken the time to answer any questions we have had. Everyone has a very professional attitude and seems to truly care about your problem.

I have been a patient here for several years through a number of retinal tears and two Vitrectomies. I have always been treated promptly with compassion, respect, and professionalism by all the staff. I have been very pleased with the outcomes of all procedures. Little short of miraculous.
