The Abbey Resort

Had a very nice stay! The staff is amazing! We stayed over the weekend to celebrate our 3 year anniversary & it was very lovely. The only reason I can not give 5 stars is I was very dishearten to a room with a view on the 1st floor, with LARGE dumpsters completely blocking any type of view. I get that you are remodeling but that should have been noted or a breakfast voucher or something. As the view is def something you include in the room you chose at this type or resort.

This was a surreal experience. So many places to relax and meditate. We went here for a weekend getaway from city rush life and it turned out to be a good decision. The resort is beautiful, plenty of things to do here. Food is great and atmosphere is just pleasant. Staff is so warm and welcoming. Fontana as a village was super cool for people coming from City. A small con: we go to many resorts so it is worth mentioning that this stands out in terms of house keeping service. Yet a little slow as it is a huge resort, which is understandable.

My wife and I stayed at The Abbey Resort for a weekend getaway and were not disappointed! We dined at two of their resort restaurants. The Waterfront for Friday fish fry and drinks and then 240 West for their Sunday champagne brunch. Both restaurants offered great food and service for a reasonable price. We booked with the Bed and Breakfast package offered and were presented with free admission to the Avani Spa during our stay and also breakfast vouchers at 240 West for each morning of our stay. We had a great time and definitely will be returning in the future!

The Abbey is a nice property, updated, and with plenty of activities. If you have a family there's plenty to do and the views of the lake are gorgeous. The band they had at the Waterfront Restaurant was amazing, they're called Triple D. Now for the issues: I stayed the weekend with my husband who was in a wheelchair. The property and Lake Geneva in general, is not wheelchair friendly. We called prior to arriving to advise we needed a handicap room. We were placed in the 7th building which does not have a ramp. In order to access building 7 you have to go through building 3. Pushing a wheelchair down two building hallways on carpet is no easy task. The handicap parking by building 3 does not have a ramp, so I would have to unload, go park, then return to enter the building. It was more difficult than it should have been. The pool has steps to access it, so we were unable to enter the pool area, we were able to sit just outside of it by the concession stand. When we made the drive to the city, we found that the public restrooms were called handicap accessible, but were not wide enough to enter with the wheelchair. We found this issue with several establishments and public areas. Overall I believe the staff needs to be better trained on questions with accessibility and knowing their property to accommodate these needs or otherwise don't offer handicap rooms.

Had a harbor view room with a nice outdoor space for an evening cocktail from the bar. Nice fire pit for the evening and great space to walk around. Friendly helpful staff. Did not use the many pools, but, they looked nice. Had Dinner at the Waterfront Grill and sat outside with a view of the harbor and another fire pit.
