Heidel House Resort & Spa

One of the premier resorts in Green Lake region, Heidel House, is losing it's luster. Don't get me wrong, it is a great place to visit for vacations and meetings in the area but it has begun to look dated. A wonderful facility by the beautiful Green Lake, it is picturesque with many conference rooms, restaurants and lodging rooms overlooking the scenic vista. Great facility for retreats, conferences, corporate meetings and as a vacation destination. In summer time there is a lot to do with fun on the water, a golf course nearby and the Evensong Spa. However, 60+ years old facility is showing it's age. The two restaurants in the main building seem to have difficulty keeping up with customer expectations. The lodging rooms are in need of a face lift. Everything works but it has the feel of yesteryears. Everyone I met seemed to welcome the customers and offer their services with flair. I did not have the opportunity to visit the Spa which seemed to be a wonderful facility from a distance.

Great place for a wedding! They have a beautiful spot right on the lake as well as one more inland. The reception can be helping in the ballroom or in a tent. Both options area great! Very nice resort work golf, a spa, great food, and friendly staff. I'd highly recommend it.

Great location for a wedding. The ceremony was in the banks of Green Lake and the reception was inside the ballroom. The Heidel House has a lot to offer for weddings! Beautiful backdrops, modern conveniences, plenty of rooms for guests, on site spa services, professional staff, golf, fishing, and great food. Definitely worth considering for a wedding venue.

Honestly, I was surprised by how outdated everything was. The lobby looked really nice and I thought (hoped) that might be a reflection on the rest of the hotel but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I will say the updated sink was a nice surprise but the bath and shower were disappointing. The bath was so shallow I decided to save my bath salts for when I came home because they would have gone to waste. Not what I expected from a $300 a night “Resort and Spa”. The staff were incredibly friendly all around. The spa was great and the staff were kind and accommodating. I thought Grey Rock was overpriced. The server was friendly but shouldn’t be serving at a formal restaurant. Overall not what I was expecting for the amount of money we were spending. I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world and states and this by far was the most over priced for the experience. Would have given it a 2 1/2 stars if that was an option.

I recently spent 2 nights there. When I got into my room I discovered that I did not have a tub with jets as I had requested when booking the room. Called the front desk and I did receive an upgrade. The food at gray rock was nothing special. It was very over priced for the quality and the service was poor. Received a drink from the bar and found a bug in it. My last morning there we experienced not having any power. Over all experience was not the best. I feel that I should have been offered a free night do to the number of problems.
