Chula Vista Resort - Wisconsin Dells Waterpark Resort

The water park is probably the best I've been to in a long time. Indoor park had plenty of different rides to do with tubes or mats. The jungle gym is fun for all ages with 10s of gallon of water going everywhere. Lazy river is relaxing. The outdoor parks and amenities we're not open yet so nothing on that. Restaurants are great with upscale, middle ground, and a cheap cafe. Didn't partake in much else. Cheapest room was still big with plenty of space and plenty of bed. Some of the resort was under construction but it wasn't bad. Great place for a relaxing trip if you are near by.

My wife and I decided to plan a getaway for Memorial weekend, we booked Chula Vista since the size seem adequate for small children, we are currently staying at one of their Villas, we booked 5-28-18 to 5-30-18. We arrived a bit early on Monday and our room was available even before 4:00 PM which is nice, after settling in we decided to go and check out the water park, we were informed that the outdoor would close at dawn, even though it closed way before that, we then decided to go and try the indoor, which it's perfect for kids, since its not too big. This morning 5-29-18, we decided to head to the outdoor water park since the kids enjoy their time out, however, we were informed that the outdoors portion was closed and they were trying to open as soon as possible, even though that didnt happen until 1:00 PM, and even then, it only opened partially and was closing at 4:00 PM today, after asking why half of the outdoor was closed some employees said it was not busy enough to open the entire outdoors....... well, if we would have known this, we would chosen to stay somewhere else, after calling the front desk they only said it was due to maintenance, once again, if they would let people know, we could make a more educated decision. Now, the guards are very friendly and courteous which is a plus, specially when you have two kids. Overall it has been a somewhat disappointing experience.

Found this hotel very nice, large resort. Room was clean, nice balcony, not much of a view but that was no big deal. We had a Jr king suite. They had a nice map of the resort grounds, but I felt that they could have had a map or at least a listing of the different slides they have in the water park and a brief description of each. We couldn't figure out what each slide was about. We ended up going on the jungle Adventure Ride...that would have been the last one we would have picked had we known what we were getting into. It was like a giant toilet bowl, after going around and around in circles forever, we seemed to get stuck in it...finally we got "flushed" out of it. I was so sick after the ride. Just not my cup of tea.

It has been my 2nd time staying here, U stayed at the Villa's. I had no issues, wish there was a better way to take out the trash vs waiting for housekeeping to swing by. We were a bit over 2 days with trash and no towels. Would've been worse if we had the full party capacity for the villa. Water park is great! Indeed fun! The restaurants are delicious, great place for brunch and lunch.

While our trip was enjoyable for the majority of the time, there were some issues. The room was not clean. There were bugs on the floor and it had this unpleasant smell to it. The back patio door mysteriously continued unlocking itself. We checked the door many times and it shut and locked correctly. Someone had to have come into the room and kept unlocking the door..we felt very uncomfortable after that and almost left the resort early. However, we had one more night and I was able to convince my party to stay. In addition, there were a decent amount of slides that weren’t even on while we were there. The lifeguards are all on different pages and policies as well. My daughter is right at 42 inches, one lifeguard would let her go, and another one wouldn’t. There was no consistency in their decisions and it upset my daughter that one time she could go on a ride and the next she couldn’t.
