American Resort & Campground

A better description of the cabins would've been nice. We were a group of 10+ people and got shoved into a cabin that wasn't made for more than 4, but the description made it seem like we'd fit comfortably in it (we didn't)... the cabin next to us looked twice as big and didn't have anyone it but we couldn't have it. The rooms weren't dirty, but we weren't given sheets for the pull out couches and no one came by to ask if we wanted to refresh our cabin or anything of that sorts. We were out grilling and hanging out by the campfire staying quiet but kept getting harassed by management and were told it was "quiet time" when all the building next to us were louder. Maybe we chose the wrong weekend, maybe management has some kinks to work out still. For smaller groups it would probably be better, bigger groups they assume you're the ones doing everything wrong.

I think they could charge twice as much as they are for such a great place! You can't find another deal this good. Regardless of the low price, the hotel had lots of amenities and was just a nice place to stay. It was clean and very quiet (I'm not sure why other reviews had a noise problem) and there were lots of activities they provide you to do. My only complaint is the shuttle service to the casino. We tried to find out the best way to get the shuttle, but the hotel did a poor job of communicating about it to us, and we ended up having to wait over an hour for it!

Was a great experience. Enjoy the cabin we stayed in. Only thing we didnt like was the noise outside wasnt calm down after quiet hours and u could hear everything. All staff was nice and very friendly

It was a poor choice staying here. There's nothing "American" about this resort. There was coffee packs in a couple of my pillows so I know the housekeeper didn't change my bedspread. I stayed for four nights with my family and never did the housekeeper come & make the bed or restock my toilet paper, shampoo, or soaps. There were blood stains on my main comforter & a LARGE urine stain on my bed sheet. When my fiancé asked for a new comforter and a couple more pillows, the rude customer service agent asked twenty questions and downright REFUSED. I don't pay that price for other people not to do their job. I came to the resort because I've been backed up with work & needed to get away. I shouldn't have to take out my own trash and clean my room when there's someone on-site that is responsible for fulfilling those duties. On top of that, I took my two-year-old to their arcade and the machine swallowed a dollar worth of quarters. When I let the receptionist know, she rolled her eyes and attempted to deny me a refund of my money by saying "those are a different companies' machines, we don't own them." It's not the money itself, it's the principle of the thing. Then they took down all of my contact information and my room number over the dollar they owed me. If you want luxury, go to the River's Edge Resort.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at!!! I will never stay here again. You can hear everything above you and next to you. The room is in what feels like a basement and there is no such thing as hot water!! The beds are horrible and there is no way that its a queen size bed! To me we should have only paid 75 dollars for this type of accommodations!! Good luck to those that decide to stay here.
