The Mucky Duck Pub

Food and atmosphere is top notch. Can't go wrong with the fish and chips. I didn't love the bangers and mash, but I think that was more just a personal preference. Wife says that the pasties are great.

A great place to have dinner and hang out with friends. Authentic English pub fare that you just can't get anywhere else in Ames, or most places in the Midwest. I highly recommend the fish and chips. Fantastic selection of beers. If the weather is nice you definitely want to hold out for a patio table, as it can get a little bit crowded and claustrophobic inside, hence the four star review.

Food was great,nice atmosphere. Did not have enough help. But help was excellent despite being very busy. Would recommend to anyone. Also excellent choices of adult beverages. My son and I differ in our preferences and we both found plenty of choices. Your crazy if u don't try it!

Fantastic food! The crust on the pastry was so light and buttery and the fish and chips were delightful.Great beer selection and tons of different teas that you can get hot, iced, or to go. They allow dogs on the patio too. If I ever pass through Ames again, I will definitely be stopping here!

I have asked an honest to gosh Britt how authentic the menu is, and he gave it a full stamp of approval. Since I can't get to the UP of Michigan as often as I'd like to, the pasties here will satisfy your cravings. The bangers and mash are great as well.
