Tops Bar-B-Q

Disappointed Ordered a three rib dinner plate, $13 I could almost count the beans in the juice, it was a piss poor helping, potato salad was mustard potato salad it was pretty good a decent helping, I got my plate went to the table Open the lid That’s when I knew I was in a classy place, when a hamburger bun was my bread, the ribs were barely room temperature, took it back up to the counter and the cook said OK fresh off the pit, They were 2° warmer than the last one, the meat tasted OK, probably would have been good three hours ago, sauce needs work big time. Will I eat there again that would be a no ,even if someone else was buying. I am a over the road truck driver & that is a honest review, I have eaten barbecue all over the country & that was a big disappointment.

I always enjoy my food. Sometimes chopped meat have some hard pieces on sandwich. I continue to visit with no problem.

Most of the 1-2 stars have never eaten outside of the state they were born in. If you enjoy vinegar musturd sauce then eat there. This restaurant first opened in 1952 and have managed to remain open and adding others since. Enjoy stopping in every chance I get. They open at breakfast time to sell excellent bbq. Yanks will need to acquire a good taste to enjoy good food.

I was raised in Memphis and always enjoyed tops BBQ but this restaurant was a sad disappointment. Price is irrelevant to me if the food is good, but this was cold and dried out meat. The beans were watery. Definitely needs new management to fix this place before I would consider returning.

The food is good the portions leave something to be desired I ordered an extra half pound of brisket that I paid $9 for they thought 3 skinny strips of sliced brisket was a half a pound so I decided to weigh it the container they put it in and all was not even half found
