On Saturday, May 14th, 2018, Seattle was sunny, highs in the low 80’s and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. As you can imagine, people up here go a bit crazy when this happens in May and it seems everyone was grilling and enjoying the weather the night before Mother’s Day. I also had planned on grilling dinner for my wife, who had our first son four weeks earlier, and my mother who was in town visiting for Mother’s Day. Because of the occasion, I had gone to a special butcher and picked up amazing steaks to grill for my family.
At 6:35 I went to start my grill for the first time this season and realized the propane was empty. Being cognizant of the time, I quickly put the tank in my car and raced down to your Interbay location as it is the only place I can refill tanks.
I arrived at your location at 6:50 and parked next to your propane refill station where I was told that they could no longer help me because they were closing. I mentioned the time to the employee and was given no reason why they were unable to help ten minutes prior to closing.
After realizing I had no where else to go, I went inside and asked if they had a manager on duty which is when David Scraramella, standing behind the counter with another employee, said he was the manager. I explained my situation and again asked why they were closing early and unable to help. David laughed it off and dismissed all of my questions telling me that’s just how they do it and he could not help. I proceeded to ask for his name when he offered his card and the third employee began to laugh at my expense.

I guess it's too much to expect honest business practices.
Due to some last-minute changes to my moving itinerary, I spoke to a couple representatives from U-Haul, yesterday (Saturday, May 19th). The changes to my moving plans meant that I was staying locally, rather than heading down to Sacramento. It was a hassle but one I could not help, unfortunately.
I called the U-Haul Interbay location to make sure that I could return the truck there. They mentioned that they could not decide that and transferred me to "traffic". I spoke the traffic representative and she confirmed that I could drop off the truck at the Interbay location. I mentioned that I wouldn't be able to arrive until after 9 pm and she said that would be okay. It turns out that Interbay has an after-hours dropoff. The representative gave me some instructions that included placing the dolly and moving pads in the cab of the truck and lock it up before I drop the key into the overnight key drop. Naturally, I followed the instructions to a note.
This morning, I started receiving calls from U-Haul, basically chastising me for dropping the truck off at Interbay, rather than Sacramento. I spoke to four more people from the U-Haul team without being able to resolve the problem. I even spoke to the folks at the Sacramento location, to let them know of the changes.
Despite speaking to multiple people, I'm still being called by David, the GM at the Interbay location. However, now, mysteriously the dolly and moving pads are missing. We both know that this is a lie, however, I'm willing to give David the benefit of the doubt. Just know that I will never use U-Haul for any reason, ever again.
I would expect honest business from a company like U-Haul, however, that doesn't seem to be the case. I will be submitting some reviews to the typical places, articulating my experience with U-Haul Interbay, and more specifically, David, the GM of the location. Lying, for spite, is inexcusable.

Terrible experience. The people who work at this location (David Scaramella) treated customers terribly.

The staff of this place has racial discrimination. Which is an serious issue. They won’t rent you a truck if you don’t know how to speak English, even you have driver license. Shame on the guy who work there on April 21 2018.

I used couple times rent service of U-Haul offices before. However, this office was different. And something extra happened and that changed my mind about U-Haul company.
Yesterday I rented a van at this U-Haul office. Today I returned it and decided to rent another one for another day. Employee brought new van right on the exit from U-Haul area to 15th Ave. So this van blocked exit for everyone else, thus I needed to move out immediately. I did not have a chance to check condition of vehicle, mileage etc.
I asked employee about details of charge for previous day. I was polite and quiet. However, employee was extremely rude. He screamed with phrases like "What do you need??!" He screamed on me trying to force me to remove van from exit of the U-Haul area. Because other customers started complaining that they are not able to move out because exit is blocked. I explained, that I have some questions before I move out. And it was not me who put this vehicle at the exit. It was the employee.
Finally, employee did not explain me properly details of charge. I did not disagree with charge, however, I just needed explanation of details. And finally I had no other choice then to just move out without proper information.
