VA Medical Center

This review is for the pharmacy. I have needed time sensitive prescriptions from them 2 times now. The first time, I made it a point to call and insure that they recieved the prescriptions from my doctor, and was told that the pharmacy tech had them in her hand. I explained that I needed to start one of them in a few days and asked if I could come pick them up. I was told that I couldn’t and that they would be marked priority and sent to me. After they didn’t show up in time, I finally tracked down the pharmacy supervisor to be told that one of the scripts I needed most was smudged, and illegible so it couldn’t be filled. Why wasn’t I called and notified of this?? The second time, I called to see if they recieved my script which I need to start taking today if possible, but by tomorrow at the latest. I have now been on hold waiting to have my call answered for 44 minutes. They close in 20 minutes. I guess I’m going to have to miss some work tomorrow to drive in and get this taken care of.

I'm in town from Kentucky and ran out of my medication. Went to the ER to see a doctor to get a new prescription. Everyone was nice and helpful. They were able to give me enough medication to last me till I get back home and see my regular VA doctor. Thanks for the help.

Top notch facility. Ignore those whining about the service because the entire VA system nationwide is swamped treating veterans who are not service connected and who have no insurance and haven't seen a doctor in twenty years. That is not the purpose of the VA.

The pharmacy at this hospital is lousy! Lousy customer service and lousy people skills! My doctor ordered a medicine for overnight delivery on a Friday. I was told I should have it by the next Thursday! Maybe. I guess a doctor's prescription is a "Helpful suggestion". The pharmacy decides when and if you get your prescription. The personal in the pharmacy are rude. Customer service is definitely a foreign concept for this VA. Can't wait til President Trump gets the Veterans Administration the ability to fire lousy employees.
