West Idaho Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

I suffered through a trimalleolar (3 broken bones) fracture of my left ankle. After St. Luke's fixed the dislocation of my ankle, they referred me to an orthopedic surgeon, that did not have time to see me. Neither did several others that I called, right before Thanksgiving. Two of my friends highly recommended Dr. Wolf to me. I called, and he was able to get me in the following day! During the visit, he focused on what needed to happen to fix the three broken bones in my ankle, which is what I wanted to hear. He arranged for me to have surgery at West Valley Medical Center the very next day! The staff at West Valley Medical Center, including Dr. Fox, the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Wolf did an excellent job! Dr. Wolf inserted a plate, 12 screws, and a tightrope! I am now three months post surgery and was able to walk up & down the hills of downtown Seattle for four days & nights sightseeing, & my ankle is solid! During my healing time, Dr. Wolf was very accessible to me by email, phone calls and office visits. My husband emailed him the night of surgery with a question, and he called him back within the hour! On another occasion I emailed him with some pain, and he called in an Rx and emailed me back. Further, his office manager went out of her way to process my paperwork for my leave of absence at work! Dr. Wolf is young, energetic, a genius, and kind. He is educated on the latest & greatest, as well as being a very skilled surgeon! He also teaches classes to other doctors! He was open minded to my alternative ideas of using turmeric and fish oil to reduce swelling, in addition to the use of ice, his recommendation. I would not hesitate to call on his services again, and highly recommend him! He is ALL about getting you back to your normal activity level! :-)

Please make this your first call if you need orthopedic care. The doctors, PA's, nurses, medical assistants and office staff are simply amazing. My husband tore up his shoulder and needed to be seen pretty quickly. They not only got him in quickly but they were kind, professional and easy to deal with. Our insurance company is notoriously difficult to deal with and the ladies that handle the insurance and scheduling have worked miracles to get my husband the care he needed in more than a timely manner. They took a huge burden off of our shoulders (no pun intended!) and freed us up to worry about getting healthy again.

I'm a 62 year old male. I sure did not want to get a total knee replacement but I was very tired of it hurting. So in Dec. 2017 I went to Doc Nicola and got scheduled to do it. Every person that I was involved with during my operation would also get 5 stars. West Idaho Orthopedics has got knee surgery dialed in. My surgery went well as has my rehabilitation. I'm riding a stationary bike 6.5 miles a day as well as many stretching and strengthening exercises. Physical therapy has also been very helpful. Doc Nicola and his staff did a fine job and so now it is up to me. I do 3 periods of exercises a day lasting 45 min. I started with a range of motion of less than 100 degrees after surgery and I'm now at 116 with 120 being my goal. If you have wore out your knees as I have and are tired of pain, go to West Idaho Orthopedics, its a good feeling not hurting.

Dr George Nicola is the most professional and pleasant Dr I've ever delta with. His knowledge combined with his out going personality make him second to none in his field. I trust Dr Nicola with all of my families orthopedics needs.

I highly recommend West Idaho Orthopedics for all your joint needs. Had both knees replaced over the years and couldn't be happier. Dr. Nicola and his staff are very compassionate and competent. If needed I would go to them again hands down.
