Island Hotel Durban

Everything is just poor about this place… I had a terrible experience with Island Hotel… I booked with them from 24-30 June 2023. On my arrival at the place I didn’t have warm water in the shower… it took them a day to fix the problem… the window of the room where I stayed was broken the frame…. The food they served for breakfast you can tell there was no effort made at all…. I told them that I don’t eat starch..it took them three days to prepare the right food for me… the attitude from their chef was on other level….the plugs in the rooms were tripping every day and all these things are reported but no action taken… on 29 June 2023… they hosted the local school for Matric ball celebration.. at 10:00pm the music was still so loud.. no one is considering other guests in the hotel…. During load shedding you don’t get anything for light, such as candles or lamps.

Had a Mutton Bunny for Lunch. Was very impressed. Large portion, great flavour and nice heat. Will definitely be back.

Good day, I just want to express my disappointment after visiting your restaurant today. I'm usually not one to that's hard to impress and not one to give bad reviews but, I have a few concerns about my visit today. Firstly, the tables at which we sat were wiped down yet sticky. Bunnies and beverages were ordered for a family of 5 and to my surprise it had been the worst bunny experience ever. And I'm guessing you guys are indian owned, so you would definitely understand what a good bunny chow is. It looked terrible, tasted old, no potatoes, and Grey hair found in the bunny. I mean, that's just.. Disgusting. I have pictures if you are interested to respond and if you actually value customer feedback. Really disappointed. Worst experience.

We had gone here specifically for the restaurant. Service was ok, as the servers were very slow in terms of coming to take orders. Even tho we were the only customers at that moment. We ordered the mutton bunny with extra gravy on the side. Flavour was good, good portions and fairly priced. Ambiance is very simple deco and seating inside. Very loud music played outside Worth a try for the food.

I the island hotel it's comfortable people all smiling kind receptionist and manager staff very bubbly no person ever creates a havock now it's 100 ton better than ever I really appreciate them food beds and some night they have people come over

Rating is for the bunny. Ordered a braised mutton with extra gravy. Excellent bunny ! Quality meat and flavour. One of the better bunnies in Durban.
