Incredible service and great way to make some extra cash. I registered as an owner with RentmyRide in January. I don't use my car during the week and was looking for a way to make a second income. Not even long after registering I got my first booking, Soon I had to make my car available for weekends as well as bookings didn't stop. I got such good assistance from Dane with all the submitting of forms etc. They make sure all the clients are verified and admin is taking care of. I have no complaints with the clients renting my car and are super happy I started with this. Awesome RentmyRide.
Cute concept, but terrible service I tried the service out while in South Africa, and I appreciated the offering some owners have on daily kilometres. However, there was massive trouble resolving a reported scratch which included the owner still renting out a car that needed repairing so my deposit return could be calculated. The service did not intervene sufficiently on my behalf, and the onus was on me to keep checking progress. It was absolutely frustrating for 6 whole weeks since return and I wouldn't use the service again.
Tried to use the services, but when browsing the website to get an idea of costings involved, it wasn't made clear of ALL the costs or charges involved in the rental. Had to register with you guys, submitted my driver's, proof of residence and all the necessary paperwork, didn't get confirmation that my registration was successful, went in by chance and saw oh, I can rent now, so choose the car that we had been looking at, only to find that we need to pay R7010 later, with a refundable deposit of R4500. None of this was mentioned on your ensure, you need to make it clear what the requirements are, I've now submitted all my documents and I won't be using the service. Please amend your website and let the prone know of ALL the Dr hidden costs involved.
Unethical and Criminal! Very ingenious and quick way to get a ride. The concept is simple and easy. Owners rent out their vechles and earn an additional income. The owners I have dealt with are very friendly and forthcoming to make the transaction as smooth and pleasant as such, they deserve a 5 Star Rating! However, the problem is the management of Rentmyride that fail to pay out your deposit on time! They will try and hold on to it for as long as possible to ensure a positive interest rate in their account and after 7 days you get a notice that it would be paid out in another 7 days time! This is not only Unethical but also Criminal! So be Warned!!! PERCY MARTIN
The pain of uploading documents only to find that there is a hidden insurance cost north of R7K on top of the displayed estimated cost and a refundable deposit too. And then liabilities are also stacked against the renter. Makes me think it only gets worse from here. Cheers, Bye! I’d rather go with the traditional rental services.
We had a rental car for two weeks and on the first day someone bumped into us, documents was immediatley submitted, six weeks after we've returned the car we are still waiting on our deposit. We later found out that the accident documents was not processed immediatley, we had to send the documents again. We also had to contact Rent My Ride several times for feedback.
What a good service Rentmyride gave it to me. Assisted me on how to start and complete a trip. Wonderful people. Keep it up you are amazing
Update on post of two weeks back... Dane Clark, you've been messing around with us since the Fri 20/05/2022 when you said our deposit will be paid. Everyday you change the issue why you have not paid our deposit. You even said our deposit was paid already, yesterday you said you will send the prove of payment, today you told us that you must still get the prove of payment and you also that the insurance of the people that drove into us have paid the money. Why do you still keep our deposit? Do you really want our attorney to start with litigation to get our deposit back? Please reply on this platform not on my e-mail like you did previously.
Terrible service, they wont let you subscribe if you are a foreigner. They will ask dumb questions such as "why would you want to rent a car ? " You are better off with a low cost international rental company, like Sixt. The price difference is not significant.
We rented for 25 days and had a good experience overall. The car owner met us personally at the airport and collected the car personally again--great service! Our car needed a service and we have recommended that RentMyRide make proof of this a condition of supplying a vehicle. Despite this, we liked renting in this way and would do it again.
