We had a great experience. Booked the car through their website. Pick up and drop off was fast and easy as well. And deposit was back quickly.
Avoid renting a car here at all costs. Firstly, when I got there they told me that the place was not a thrifty location and then when I told them I had made a reservation at that exact location they later on said that the company has now transitioned to Sani but they also still serve under thriftythe confusion!!! They then told me that the car was gone and taken by someone else and that I should come back the next day in the morning to get it, mind you I had already made a payment. After that These people went ahead canceled my reservation without notifying me, I did not receive any communication that this had taken place and no refund was issued to me. I ended up making a different reservation at the airport after all the back and forth AND the confusion. Please do better Thrifty!
I rented a SUV for one day to travel from George to Cape town, the car was fine but a bit expansive. When I brought it back I did not get any documents about the car and it was 100% in same condition I got it 7h before same day return. When I looked into my Bank Account for deposit I was shocked. They kept 2600R / 137€ for nothing. Even After logging a Service Ticket they did not response me. This is not acceptable!
I do not want to rate them even one star but the system does not allow me to review without a star. Very bad and dissappointing. These guys are out there to take your monies. Be careful. I should have gone to Europcar when the guy Rashid gave me all sorts of excuses why he could not give me the online deal and i had to pay much, much more. I did not have sight of contract and all the charges, andnwasntold it will be emailed to me. Then they deducted the deposit from my account just because i am with Discovery bank. 24hrs after return of vehicle they deducted monies for excess km, but also deductwd airport drop off charges for 2nd time, which i've already paid for. A nightmare to try and get through to the branch ... eventually i got through after being transferred all over. Rashid told me he's not sure why they deducted/double charged the drop off fees, but will investigate. Regarding the monies deducted straight from my CC instead of holding deposit...... well that's just how these guys operate. Very Thrifty to ensure their pockets are full. No i have to fight to try and get my deposit and over charges back which i was told could take up to 21 days. I've never dealt with a car rental company like this before and vow i will never do so again.
Took an expensive Uber to the location after booking a reservation over the phone and when I arrived they refused to rent me a vehicle because my debit card does not have my name on it. They never informed me over the phone that this was a requirement and refused an instant EFT even with all my identification cards in hand.
Planned a holiday away for 19th March. Arrived at the pickup only to be told that my license needs to be atleast 1 years old. This was after deposits and everything was paid. Things like should be questioned before any payments are made. Holiday ruined money wasted. Now I’m waiting for a deposit to come back which I’m hoping that I won’t be chasing as per the reviews it seems like that’s what I’ll be doing.
Car was good not the best but the service was great
Nadeem and Tasneem made us feel comfortable and provided excellent service, yoh, felt like our needs were attended to. 5 star treatment with a few extra jokes in between. Thank you for making the booking as pleasant as possible.
I've rented a car there 2 times and everything went as smooth as possible. I don't understand why there is so many low ratings I definitely recommend this place.
After filling the car next door, they still charged for refueling. Upon query they said you could have squeezed another liter in. Completely unacceptable practice to just grab some more fees. Won’t use them again.
