Adobe Rose Restaurant

Great food. However, I think the service could have been better. We waited at the front for about five minutes before anyone would even talk to us. A few employees would glance at us, but not even say, "We'll have someone with you in just a moment." Our dishes took quite a while to come out and were certainly great when they did. But they need to take the time to acknowledge customers. It makes all the difference sometimes.

We went last night and were excited about the reviews. All I can say is it must have been posts from friends and family. The waitress sucked! Apparently she can only bring things in twos. There was four in our group. She brought out two cups of water and twenty minutes later the other two. The bugs are eating us alive because they have one tiny bug light. We ordered and waited over an hour for our meals to arrive. The waitress was as friendly as a rattlesnake. I think she would have died if she tried to smile or be polite. To top it all off we got the crappiest food. The enchiladas were so bad, I think I have had better from a can. My daughter ordered the stuffed avocados that were supposed to be filled with pepper jack, but all it had was cheap cream cheese. Their shrimp plate consisted of eight small shrimp. Not worth the amount we paid. Skip this place it was a major disappointment. I really wish I could put no stars.

If you are staying the night in Artesia, make sure and go grab a bite at Adobe Rose, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. They have live music on their outdoor patio on these nights and the atmosphere is great. The food is also really good. There was nothing wrong with anything we ordered. Also had some good drinks and a wide variety on the menu. I was really glad we found this place.

The waitress and service was good. The appetizers good. However, the Dr Pepper "Lamb" was horrible. Tasted like mutton, was over cooked and gamey tasting. The waitress offered to serve me something else and asked if I wanted to go box for my lamb. I did not, but another diner at our table offered to take it. So I ordered a side salad and the lobster tail side. Lobster was of course frozen. Came over cooked and nearly impossible to get out of the shell. I ate the salty, leather textured stuff because I was hungry and my dinner companions were done with their meals and graciously waiting for me to eat. The topper was that we got charged full price for the lamb dinner. Why? Probably because someone took it off my hands? I feel we should have at least been offered a discount. Happy to be traveling so we never have a reason to come back.
