Bowling Green Municipal Utilities

BGMU, huh! I moved to BG from Ohio last year. Got an apt n Scottsville Rd. Went to BGMU with what I thought was reasonable amount, for a deposit. They said I would have to pay $500. I was taken aback, so asked to speak with someone higher up. They were going to have to explain to me, why my deposit was $500, and I have never stepped foot in Kentucky a day in my life. They sent me over to the first office on the Left. Their is two of them. I was sent to the first one. This woman tried to give me a bunch of BS reasons. Luckily for me, I had my BS repellent on. She had the audacity to tell me, that I was paying for the cost, from the previous tenants, location, national cost of average, and my credit! Funny! Well since I put into consideration in which the order it was given to me, my credit being last, apparently that was not the issue! BG folks, WAKE UP! They are using you to pay for that overpriced glass building! Note to BGMU: Don't throw stones, when you work in a glass house! They are getting away with it, because they are the only game in town! Any investors interested in opening a utility company! Trust and believe, if their was a new utility company on the horizon, this would be BGMU new slogan: "You Talked, We Listened" or "Come Back, We Miss You"! You know, the ol BS song and dance slogans they put out, to get the consumer to come back, because they know, that they are now Fawked! Shalom!!!!

Very overpriced utilities. More expensive than anywhere I have ever lived including much colder climates and much wealthier areas.

This place a f*** scam!!!!!! All they see is $$$$$$ they will charge you just to to walk in the door this place is the worst ever in America!!! They don't give af about people just like money hungry scammers!!! They the most rude customer service in the world!!! I'm not exaggerating at all either they act like its "Beverly hills" and you should just throw money at them just for walking thru the store this little **** hole town all I can say is F*** this place!!! it would be cheaper to live at a "strip club" or "casino" instead of going thru this place I swear

This is the lamest power company ever. I lived in the boon-docks of Mississippi and the power didn't go out every time the wind blows. Plus they didn't tell you that squirrels blew the transformer out every time you have to call them. BGMU is a bunch of dicks.

I moved to Bg in April, my deposit was $350 plus the activation fees of $120. They said they combine 2 months of the previous persons bill to get that amount. They said that they couldn't split the deposit into payments, so I was lucky to actually have that in my savings. They were going to cut me off over $28 dollars last month. My mom's had it worse; She has lived in Bg for over 10 years; and has moved about 4 times. My father died about 8 years ago, and they sent her his $1600 bill this year telling her that she had to pay it because she lived with him. They said it was because he was on the plan where your bill is the same every month, and that it was the back balance. They also cut off her neighbor because there was $2.36 that she didn't pay. In Louisville, there are no activation fees or transfer fees. They have no competition, so they can charge what they want.
