Had a few things on my MTB adjusted (rear brake rotor, front brake, and true the front wheel). Also added the bike cleaning and chain lube combo, which made the bike look brand new. Excellent work in very timely manner on all these items, and for a reasonable price. Woody is knowledgeable and friendly, as is all the staff. I will remember this place and go back.

I have been shopping exclusively at build a bike for the past year now. I have bought many bikes/parts/tools from them. Any little thing I ask them to do, they get it done. I bought a rockshox fork, they had it delivered and installed the next day! I’ve had some pretty goofy requests too from bright orange handle grips to glittery pink streamers. I love this shop and I don’t see myself shopping anywhere else!

I did not have a good experience with this shop. I found a coupon that was 1 month and 11 days expired, it was for a free install if I purchased a heavy duty tube ($8 value) from the shop. I called and asked if they would honor the coupon the shop guy laughed and said " that's a month and half old" I replied I realized it is and that is why I am calling. Then the shop guy said they would not honor it. I asked if they had any other valid coupons and he said "I think they' are some coupons out there." . I waited to see if he would tell me where and he did not.
So I realize it was an expired coupon and it is their right to refuse it. It seems to me that a mom and pop shop should be willing to go above and beyond in customer service in this day and age of Amazon delivering things to my door for free in two days, but I guess not.
So I search for another shop in the area and realize the next closest one is much further than I want to drive. So I end up in the shop and ask them how much it would be to install a heavy duty tube on a beach cruiser and I was quoted $20 including install. I agree and ask how long will it take. He doesn't answer my questions but says I will fix it while you wait. I reply that I have be somewhere in 40 minutes and ask so are you fixing it right now then? He said no, so I leave it and say I will be back in two hours.
Fast forward two hours I call the shop and ask if it is ready. Shop guy says " Uhhhhhhh....no but I will have someone start on it now". I advise that I am about ten minutes out and I start driving that way. When I arrive at the shop the bike has not been worked on. I wait another 15 minutes get the bike and then when I check out they tell me "it was a wide tube so it will be another $5"
I will not be returning.

These guys get it...they work hard to get me everything I need, and in a timely manner. Every time I get my bikes worked on, they get them done earlier than quoted. No, they aren't the cheapest shop around, but hey, you get what you pay for...you don't take a Ferrari to Jiffy Lube!

I visited this shop yesterday because my new roommate needed his bike tuned up. I don't know anything about bikes, but I recognize a good business when I walk into one.
My roommate has a well worn, 7 year old bike. The back tire is completely fallen apart, handle grips totally worn, dirt & grime from 7 years of hard desert riding. The counter dude could have upcharged easily, but he didn't. He didn't even try. He took the time to examine the bike, figure out the best way to get it into good condition, & listed the services he recommends in a very clear and straightforward attitude. It was obvious to me that he just wanted to help my roommate get his bike into the best riding condition possible.
Furthermore, as the technician examined the bike, we looked at the inventory which was also impressive. The timeline and quote were more than reasonable, & even though we have yet to see the work I have every confidence that when we pick up the bike it will be in great shape.
