California Inn

Love the rooms by the pool and the grass area with the picnic benches. Rooms are large and can accommodate more than 4 people. The 86ers Lounge is a great bar within walking distance that has beautiful & friendly bartenders.

Pleasant place to stay, hence the 4 stars. However, everything in the room is old. Microwave, fridge, shower, etc. all seem like they've been there since the early 90s. Staff was nice. Breakfast was okay. Overall not too bad.

Great value ($80), clean recently remodeled room, good continental breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles and more. Very friendly staff. Be sure to eat at Los Domingos just down the street and get 10% off your delicious meal by showing your California Inn keycard.

I booked my hotel room online and I booked for a one bed Queen room. When I check the the clerk told me that there's only 82 bedroom Queen room left so I can have that room but I can only sleep in 1 bed which was fine. I get to the room and it was pretty clean to be a hotel in Barstow California. I made it to my room at approximately 4:00 p.m., when I late now after grabbing some food there was a party going on literally 2' outside of my window and the loud noise and music lasted at 2 almost 3:00 a.m.. I check out of my hotel around 0 700 hours and I grab some breakfast and I get back to the highway. After a few hours I look at my account and I noticed the hotel charge me an extra $50. I didn't call the hotel to figure out why and the lady put me on hold for about 5 minutes, then she tells me I was charged for a smoking feet in my room was non smoking so I tell her I have never in my life smoke I don't even like the smell of it but there was a party going on right outside of my window all through the night so clean the smoke half come from that area, at Astor to even look outside the window of where my room was located and I'm pretty sure she will see some cigaret butts because when I went out to ask the other gask to quiet down a little or can I move their music to the other side everybody out there were smoking cigarets and there is an ashtray directly in front of my window. I also asked did she or the cleaning person find cigarette ashes in my room or did they find a cigaret butt in the trash or anything of that nature she said no but the smell of it indicated that I was smoking and I should be lucky because they usually charge $100 they only charge me $50. So I will be contacting my bank to dispute that transaction
