Rancho California Inn

This is the worst hotel!!! I literally was making a reservation and once it was made... the reservation changed for what I didn’t ask for... when I tried to cancel it a few minutes later and get the refund... they denied me!!! I am never coming back here, and will refuse and not recommend them to anyone! Period! These look crappy and unsafe too, and the noise from the freeway is irritating!

Their customer service is terrible! Upon first glance the room looked decent for the price we paid but when it came to actually settling down for bed we noticed a bedbug crawling on the sheets next to one of our pillows. We immediately brought this to the owners attention and instead of listening and trying to come up with a solution, she instantly became defensive and argued it was not a bedbug. Her husband was even worse and yelled the whole time. Very unprofessional. I will not be returning.

So this review is a tough one because the rooms here are really nice. They aren't huge but they come with an iron,blow dryer,fridge,microwave and even a coffee maker. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are decorated very nicely. Consisting of the bed, a nice writing desk and a chair with an ottoman. The sound walls are insulated well keeping heat or cold in and sound out. During the week you can pretty much show up at any hour and get room on the weekends due to its vicinity to the old town bars it gets pretty full. All the rooms at the location are non smoking and they do not allow pets of any kind. My main issue with this place is the random rates they quote you and the weird amounts of tax they charge. (Weekday rate is anywhere from 55 to 99 dollars. Weekend rates are from 110 to 200 a night) The prices are made up on the spot and change day to day even if you are the only guest. Be prepared to threaten to go to the Motel 6 across the street to get the best price for the night. Check out is 11AM if you want a late check out be prepared to fork out 20 dollars an hour. I've been staying at this little inn for several years and if you can get over the haggling and random charges it's a nice room within miles of the wineries, bars and casino. I say check it out if you're in town.

Loved it in terms of the price. Lovely room. They are strict about check out time, parking and certain details. You have to pay $10 extra for extended check out for 1 hour. But in terms of the location and price, it can't be beat.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Our hotel would not work! And the office was closed, and we could not even sleep there. Had to uber to a friends house because all of our stuff was locked in the hotel. Terrible service, power went out twice on us while staying for a brief few hours.
