Carrboro Plaza Veterinary Clinic

The vets and technicians here are my heroes! I am a local elementary school teacher and recently visited this office after my students found three stray kittens on the playground during recess. The folks at this office greeted us with open (loving) arms and were so concerned with helping the kittens get healthy and sending me home with everything I needed to take care of them, free of charge. This place receives my HIGHEST praise and thanks.

Dr. Wheat is incredible. She's seen two of my cats. Very thorough & has an excellent bedside manner. The staff are always pleasant & helpful. And the costs are very reasonable!

I came to know this practice after my normal vet could not work us in. Since then, we have moved here. This place always seems to be able to accommodate us in their schedule, which is great because my cat is a frequent flier. I've seen other doctors there that were just fine. But I strive to keep our visits with Dr. Wheat. It is apparent she cares for my pet. When it's time for temp, blood work, etc...she always asks my preference; should they go into another room or do I prefer they do it with me there. In an effort to keep costs down, she has been willing to attempt procedures without sedation (enema, x-ray) that my other vets would not. And they have all gone well and left my cat relatively unstressed (as good as it can go for a cat at he vet). I've had to face some tough choices along the way and she has always been very thorough, resourceful and informative. She has taken a LOT of time talking through options with me. And the vet techs in this practice are amazing!! This is such a differentiator when visiting. They seem happy to see my angry, growling monster and comfort him with ease. Probably why the doctor is able to offer services without always requiring sedation. I find them to be one of the more affordable vets. Not cheap. But right in line with other vets in the area and on some services, a little cheaper. And believe me...we are at the vet. A lot.
