Charlie's Chicken & Barbecue

We stopped here on our way traveling to Dallas. I appreciated that it was a quick service where you order at the counter. They do walk around to refill drinks. We got the 1 pound family pack meal. The pulled pork was good, good flavor and a little sweet. The mashed potatoes were instant so that was disappointing. They told me they only have white gravy so that was disappointing as well. The chicken chunks seemed a little overcooked. The chicken in the chunks was not juicy or tender. We did not try the bone in chicken. I didn't think the breading on the chicken had much flavor. The fried jalapenos were ok but they only had packet ranch which wasn't that great. Wish they had homemade ranch. The macaroni and cheese was ok. Tasted like those deluxe boxes of Kraft, did not taste homemade, but was still creamy and good enough for kids. Family 1 pound pack meal was plenty for family of 3-4. Restaurant and restroom were clean. They had nice clean baby high chair seats. Atmosphere is casual and very family friendly.

Yummy! My boyfriend and I had the chicken chunk meal with mashed potatoes and fried okra. Delicious! Only 2 choices in bbq sauce but the gravy was delicious and they have honey too. I would Definetly go back

Got the Chicken Fried Steak and Cherry Cheesecake for dessert. Yummy.

The price is right for this chicken. Super yummy breading and sides. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

The workers, or at least one brown headed female in particular, are so lazy that they can't even park properly. There's plenty of parking spots but because I got here before the first employees did, this girl parked on the grass instead of an actual parking spot because she couldn't park where I normally do when people aren't parked there. If she's so lazy she can't walk 20 extra feet, how can she trusted to do something as simple as properly prepare fast food? Just from seeing the employee, I can imagine this is the type of place that you find hair and other bodily debris in your food while you eat off of dirty tables because they're too lazy to take the appropriate precautions or properly wipe down tables.
