The car and rental went great. The problem I had was our driver on the return to the airport. He was on his phone taking a personal call the entire trip and had to make a couple fast stops because he was distracted. It's not only unprofessional but unsafe. Tell your drivers to put the phone down.

This particular location is terrible, DO NOT RENT THERE!
After the shuttle ride from the airport, I went to pick up my car and they gave me a DIRTY CAR. I complained about it and they refused to change it. The woman who was handling my reservation just laughed stupidly at me. Later on, I realized after trying the windshield washer once that the car HAD NOT BEEN SERVICED AT ALL! There was no washing fluid at all. I am guessing that given the state of the car, no security check and no oil check was performed either before passing the car onto the next customer.
Then during my trip, my car keys were stolen, and due to a mistake on my end, I did not have roadside assistance. I was fine with paying for it as long as someone from Dollar could tell me how to handle the issue and what to do with the keyless car I was stuck with. That's where I realized they could not care less and the franchise owners themselves had no idea what to do under these circumstances. On top of it, they messed up when registering my car and could not find it in their system when I called! It took them many long calls from me to finally find my file.
I was supposed to drop off the car at a different agency, and both agencies kept sending me back to the other one, and in the end REFUSED TO ADVISE ON MY VERY STRESSFUL SITUATION and left me to fend for myself. They did not even have a spare key they could have overnighted to me like it is usually done under these circumstances. They would not even tell me where to drop off the car with the tow truck.
THEY HAD NO CONCERN AT ALL FOR MY FATHER'S SAFETY OR MINE. I explicitly said that we were basically stranded on the side of the road and had no access to our luggage that was locked inside the car. Yet, they could not care less about the fact that we had no clothes except the ones we were wearing, possibly no cash, and that we desperately needed to get my father's luggage back at most in two days so he could catch and international flight.
The tow truck guy from Gardiner fortunately was a good man and helped us get the car to a Toyota dealership to get it opened so we could retrieve the luggage. So, to the idiots from the Dollar franchise in Jackson who were incapable of thinking of it on their own... the tow truck guy is far better at his job, and at doing yours, than you are.
Of course, Dollar did not even offer a discount on getting a new car for the rest of the trip, to make up for their lack of reactivity and their incapability to advise me. So I went to a different company and will keep doing so in the future. However, I think that most of the fault here does not go to Dollar but to that particular franchise in Jackson Hole. So to all of my friends who intend to visit the same area, I will advise to stay clear of this terrible Dollar franchise and to go to a different company.
Seriously, who needs that kind of stress when on vacation, and I am saying that especially in regard to my father who, at his age, would have deserved a calm and not too stressful vacation. I cannot forgive a company who knows perfectly well that they are having a 65 year-old man run the roads for almost 24 hrs and get stressed out. Also, a large part of their business is dealing with the tourists and their usually hectic schedules, but at the first incident they cannot even provide advice? They are blatantly incompetent. Stay away from Dollar in Jackson Hole!
