We went to Foreign and Domestic on a Tuesday for the Oysters special (super nice and refreshing Virginia oysters at $1) and ended up staying for the four course menu (nose to tail menu) plus an extra appetizer.
Overall the tasting menu offers an incredible culinary experience at a very affordable price. Very recommendable! The dishes of the tasting menu are original and surprising and at the same time delicious. We loved each one of the dishes! The highlights in my opinion are the beef tongue (brittle and super tasty) and the sheared lamb heart (a first time for me, with a very interesting texture). The latter comes on top of an amazing risotto! The appetizer we ordered, onion escapes tempura, had an incredible twist to it thanks to the mustard seeds and buttermilk sauce.
The service was very good. Our waiter was super friendly and made a great job on explaining the dishes of the menu and the whereabouts of the meats and produce used. The dishes came to the table in a perfectly timed pace.
We were told that the menu changes several times a year so we will be back to try new and exciting dishes!

My parents are visiting from out of town and really wanted to go here, so we made reservations and were really excited to go. The service was great, the pop overs were fine, but the pancakes were TERRIBLE. They were soggy and spongy and delivered to me burnt. I took a few bites and asked for it to be taken away. The waiter asked if I would like anything else and I asked for some zucchini bread. Everyone else at the table had finished eating by the time I got my piece of zucchini bread. It tasted fine. When we got our check, we had been charged for the pancakes AND zucchini bread. We asked for the pancakes to be removed from the ticket and they asked if we were sure. What were we going to say? “O you’re right, I’d actually love to pay for sub par food I didn’t eat!” We were told it would be taken care of but when he brought our new receipt it still had both items on it. We just paid and left, not willing to deal with it anymore. Needless to say we will not be bringing any more of our guests here. The staff brought over some lemon poppy seed muffins for my parents to have on the trip back, but couldn’t manage to make our check right? C’mon guys.

Always friendly staff. Normally a quiet environment, good place for happy hour and/or a very nice meal. Been a few times now, will continue to come back.

Chef Sarah and Chef Nathan give you inventive, expertly cooked farm to table cuisine. If Michelin would come to Austin, FnD would get 1* easily.
I recommend everything. This is the best cooking you are going to find in Austin. Skip your crappy fast food addiction and come to a restaurant where you are getting the best ingredients cooked by the best people.

We took a business partner here last night and we were all speechless with every course. Our server was amazing and we ordered about 7 dishes, all better than the last. It was truly a culinary experience and the best I've had in Austin thus far.
