Really enjoyed visit. Quite unlike in design anything we had visited before. A lot to see. Well maintained and laid out. Lots of helpful information. Staff not very interested. Only one there (it was quiet ) and she made little contact (so unusual for historical sites where we had always found staff so interested and helpful. ) this lady preferred her mobile.

We loved it and the kids loved it. A snake did however fall out of the fence onto my son, quick save by his dad it was tossed back over the fence. The people that work and volunteer there are really wonderful and love what they do. Parking however is very limited so get there a little early.

Interesting site spend maybe a hour and a half here reading and exploring the area, yellowing flies can be a problem while walking in the wooded portion of the nature trails. Cost is 7.50 and the tour is self guided. There was another park attendant on site inside the fort demonstrating candle making.
