I have had many experiences with this hospital. As a patient I had awesome nursing care when I had to stay for several days. I had to 'fast' overnight in order to have a test done and when the test was completed I had missed lunch as well. My nurse went down to the cafeteria, picked out a meal and brought it back to me - she didn't have to, but she did because that's what their nurses and staff do - over and above to take care of the patients! My children have both been seen in the E.R. on multiple occasions and have always been treated with excellent care. They have a new doctor group in the E.R. where almost all of the physicians are board certified in Emergency Medicine - which means you are getting the best. I will admit that this hospital has gone through a lot of tough times with bad decisions made by previous administrations --HOWEVER-- the staff still there are working with what they've been handed and doing their best. They truly do care and it shows. The staff and the caregivers are the best! They can and will do anything to make your stay comfortable and treat you like family. The radiology department is full of great techs that really know their stuff! I trust them whole-heartedly! Our community depends on this hospital and I truly believe that our hospital delivers great care more often than this list of reviews show-- This hospital is more than one past event- it's the unsung heroes that work there every day - saving lives, caring for, feeding, and loving patients

Worse hospital I've ever encountered in my life !!!
The rooms should seriously be called broom closets !!! So crammed . My husband was brought here after experiencing low blood pressure. Admitted into a tiny room with another patient who had an extreme amount of traffic coming in and out of room. Family, friends and nurses. Why there isn't a limit of how many visitors can be in a room is crazy !! Very Very inconsiderate of my husbands well being. As to needing much needed rest and a room he could be comfortable in. Not people coming through gauking at him, loud, closing the screen obstructing his view to tv. Then when he felt weak I called for the nurse only to be told by at least 3 different nurses that someone would be coming. Took them 7min to respond. Drawing blood from him they attempted 3 to 4 times causing my husband extra pain not needed. We wanted to leave !!
After finally getting a private room my husband was able to fall asleep. Then some administrator asked us if we'd be willing to give up the room. My husband first said yes then feeling pressured changed his mind. 2 nurses came to move him telling us he had no choice. THEN WHY WAS HE ASKED !!!??? THIS IS BY FAR ON THE TOP WORSE HOSPITALS TO BE ADMITTED INTO !!!
This is where I get to sleep wanting to be next to my husband,a stiff chair. Also needing to use his bed as a table.

Please please save yourself some grief. Due to this being the only hospital in Silver City there's no choice but to go there especially if you're dying. This place should be shut down !!! My stepdad was in this place. He summoned a nurse for help. You know the call button they tell you to push. Well, after pushing it a nurse finally responds. My mom tells them her husband is in distress. Ok we'll be right in there, the nurse light comes on again . Did you need something, oh we'll be in there soon. Again the nurse light comes on, did you need something from the 3rd nurse. All of which couldn't have been the same nurse.
Took them 7 min to FINALLY COME INTO THE ROOM. While in one room with another patient the man in the next bed kept calling for a nurse. My mother had to go ask them that he was calling out for help. What a staff !!!
Oh yeah but I hear they're good here at giving annual cavity searches !!! YOU GO GILA REGIONAL !!! AT LEAST THEY HAVE THEIR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT !!!

It could be A LOT BETTER! BUT IT COULD BE A LOT WORSE! THE STAFF NEEDS A COURSE ON BEDSIDE MANNER! AND DEALING WITH FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE IN CRISIS WITH TERMINALLY ILL FAMILY MEMBERS! ALL OF THE STAFF NEEDS TO HAVE SOMETHING DRILLED INTO THEIR DENSE HEADS, THAT NOT ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE SEEN THEIR ARE ADDICTS! PEOPLE ARE TERMINALLY ILL! AND ARE ON A LOT OF MEDS! AND ITS THE DR'S, NURSE'S AND TECH'S JOB'S TO MAKE SURE THAT THE PATIENT IS ON THE CORRECT MEDS, AND DOSES!

My husband and step daughter have had good care from the Dr. and the PA (Cindy Moreno). So when I woke up with a blocked tear duct and sinus infection I went to the office as a walk in in the morning only to be told when they first opened there were no more walk in appointments that morning. That's fine, but the woman at the front desk was extremely rude and had no "bedside manner" whatsoever. She said it was first come first serve if I was coming back at 12:45 p.m. which I did. I filled out the form only to be told by another receptionist that they did not take new patient walk ins. She was not very pleasant either. I ended up at urgent care, if I had I known I could not have seen someone at GRMC I would have done that in the morning - I have to say the staff at Urgent Care were far more patient friendly than at GRMC. It's fine if you do not take new patient walk ins but have that posted somewhere so someone else does not have the same experience.
