I’ve been sitting in the exam room for 50 minutes. I wonder if I will be seen before they close.

Had a nurse visit today. Nice to have someone to speak to. She listened to all my concerns and promised to inform my physician. My Dr called less than an hour after I left my appointment. All my questions answered.

UNM was the only medical care facility to finally find answers for my debilitating gastrointestinal health challenges. They are the only facility in New Mexico which provides the diagnostic breath test for SIBO. I had been experiencing lower left quadrant abdominal pain, swelling, and other issues. It took time to receive the right testing but, my experience overall with all the staff, nurses, and doctors was extremely positive. They have a caring attitude and actively seek answers!

Update 10/25/2017 - I have had to file with the Office of Michelle Lujan Grisham and the NMAG just to get the proper healthcare I need and deserve.
Updtae 8/8/17 - I have filed with the NM Department of Health and I have filed against their accreditation! My new doctor put in referral to UNM Digestive Diseases. They called and asked for call back. When I called back they found other peoples information put on my account. Asked for manager, they hung up. Got a call back from lead NOT manager and all she wanted to do was give excuses instead of set the appointment. When I told her that I did not want excuses, the call ended. She put in record that I cancelled appointment. This is falsification of my medical record! I have filed with the NM Department of Health and I have filed against their accreditation!
When using MyHealth web site for UNM, not able to contact any of the Doctors or Providers listed on the web site ....
Does not find any of them at all!
This center lost my test results that came back on 2/17/2016. When Risk Management made them put up the results, THEN I started getting calls telling me how necessary treatment is. Treatment was just as necessary on 2/17/2016 when the results came back as they are a month later!
This center kept messing up on my Prior Authorizations for Medications also.
In working with UNMH Risk Management, when I told Shelly Porter that ANYONE going to unmh has the right to and deserves the same healthcare and treatment, She interrupted me stating "You're wrong. UNMH is a catch all".
From this I am to understand that I have the right to the same healthcare and treatment IF I pay in cash OR if I have insurance through employment. BUT because I have medicaid I am 'catch all' without the same rights to healthcare and treatment.
I have complaint filed with the New Mexico Medical Review Board.

Stay away from the UNM Hospitals.
In my opinion they are incompetent. Last year I had surgery by Dr. Kaza, which I think she totally botched and I almost died two weeks after the operation. I filed a formal complaint. Nothing was done. Then they sent me a bill for $345 for my portion of the botched surgery. I contacted two different UNM Hospital Patient Advocates. Both were totally worthless and both lied to me. Have your surgery done somewhere else, not at this incompetent hospital, in my opinion.
