The facility was clean. The employees were helpful in talking to my husband and myself. We had all of our questions answered. I loved seeing the Dogs. cats. Bunnies and herbals. The only thing I was let down about was the adoption fee. It was more than we could afford at the moment

Lots of animals up for adoption in every size for every walk of life and style. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. They are willing to help with suggestions getting the right fit for your family and other pets you may have. Looking forward to my next visit, hopefully bringing home a buddy for our dog we already have.

Love this place. The staff are friendly the Pet Quarters are clean. They also have a really cute gift store. I don't believe they charge you an arm and a leg to adopt an animal. I guess I'll find out next spring when I get another kitten

If I could rate this higher, I would. My experience with this shelter was nothing short of a pleasure. They assisted me in finding the dog that would best fit my needs and were able to match me with my loving companion, Mazie. Mazie came into the shelter wearing not much more than her skin and bones, had some extreme hair loss due to diet, mange, and stress. She also had her left eye recessed into her skull (which was removed through surgery), was Heartworm positive, and had clearly given birth to several litters of puppies. GMHS had her for six weeks for recovery purposes and then she was ready to be fostered until her Heartworm treatments were finished (which they paid for!). From the moment I took Mazie home, I knew it was going to be the perfect match and could not wait until she was officially mine on paper. The adoption process was very easy, everyone was incredibly kind, and the process was very seamless as well as exciting for all of us.
Fast forward to now, 7 months after adoption. Mazie is Heartworm negative, a happy 46 pounds, loves to play with her toys, chewing on bones is her favorite activity, she is always willing to cuddle with anyone, and all people are her absolute best friend. She does well with other dogs, other cats, and is an all-around fantastic companion. Mazie’s second chance at life has been wonderful thus far!
I couldn’t be more grateful for the staff at GMHS...especially Amanda Scott, who called me immediately with the knowledge that Mazie seemed like a great fit based on the description of what I was looking for in an emotional support animal. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who were involved!

Very good animal organization. Clean kennels, kind people, and good service. They are truly about the animals. We have adopted 2 cats, a bird, and we also volunteer.
