Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center

This company is awful....do not take your dogs to this place if you want your dog to live and be adopted. Take them here if u want them to die because this company will kill dogs the same hour it is dropped off and lie to you. This company told me when I dropped my dog off that they were going take him through a series of test to get adopted. I did not want him killed or I would not have taken him here. I had a life change and could not take my dog with me. I love my dog why would I have him for 7years as a puppy and want him dead. This place is is a disgrace to animals. I sent one of my friends the next day after dropping my dog off to pick my dog off and this crazy place had already killed my dog. It hadn't been 24 hours yet. Don't take your dogs here if I want them to be adopted....

This place is full of liars, and murders...I was told it would take 2 to 3 days to evaluate my dog, and I could come back and get him if my situation changed. I took my dog here yesterday at 4pm, my friend went to get him at 2pm today, and they had already killed him. He bit no one, was a little scared, and nervous so they killed him. I had my pet for 7yrs, and they killed him in a matter of a couple hours. I took him there at 4pm, they close at 7pm so what kind of test was that. This place takes no time to MURDER you loved pet. I love you Smoke, and I'm sorry I ever took you to this slaughterhouse..R.I.P. Smoke Da King...😭😡😤

The staff here seems incredibly happy and love what they do. We went in searching for a new pet companion and that same day brought home a dog. He is a great fit. They are very good about keeping dogs and cats up to date on shots and dewormers, and even the "aggressive" dogs seem content in the environment. We were given a bag of food (really healthy dog food) and all necessary medical history paperwork upon leaving with pictures of our new pup included for future vet visits. Great experience. Would definitely recommend adopting from here.

These staff members knew everything about each animal in their shelter. We saw continuous activity while we were visiting between petting cats, walking dogs etc. When we picked our Baby up- they were courteous, quick and informative after they fixed him. I was Very impressed with their cleanliness ! I will always adopt from here ! We also Very much love our Bulldog who was named Rex, now named Dozer. Very much fits him. LOL

Upon arrival the front staff were great. When we were allowed to enter the dog adoption area, I knew exactly which dog I was there for. When I requested to see her the handler was very rude asking about my home environment. The another handler just walked up and interrupted my conversation and said there are only 5 minute visits and walked off. No introduction or apologies for interruption. Then the first handler returned and gave us a no go because we had another dog at home. I then just walked out. I feel so bad for the animals here because had they not been rude I would have considered another dog
