Let me start by saying, I do NOT blame the individuals answering the phones at the Hamilton County WWTA. They are employees that work in a call center, just like me, and have to follow rules, just like me. The way that the agency's rules and regulations are set up is terrible. The people, especially one, Ms. Natasha, are great. In the likely event that the Hamilton County WWTA makes you angry also, please try not to take it out on any of the nice ladies or gentlemen that answer the phones.
The request to disconnect my water because of my sewer bill was sent after WWTA's office had closed, and they don't have anyone for after hours emergencies. I had the money, but I simply forgot to pay it, because they don't have convenient payment locations and they charge $3 to pay over the phone OR ONLINE! After going a night without water, I took care of it first thing the next morning. A lot of good THAT did, because, even though my bill was paid in full (more than that actually, I put a credit balance on the account), the WWTA was unable to properly communicate with TN American Water. 4 HOURS AFTER PAYMENT, despite the fact that I had expressed that there was a disabled person and a child at my home (hence, why I was busy and forgot about the bill), the WWTA's electronic communications system STILL had not sent the update to TN American Water to have it cut back on. It was a NIGHTMARE!
From the first day that Hamilton County WWTA started being billed separately from the monthly water bill, I've not heard a positive word nor have I had a positive word to say about it, again, aside from the people.
