Heaton Eye Associates: Longview, Texas

Great staff and great doctors! Dr. Risner did my PRK (lasik) and I love it. Being free from glasses has been so great!!!

There are so many things that I like about Heaton in reference to interaction with Dr & care personnel. I have had great customer service here! HOWEVER, there is one SIGNIFICANT issue with Heaton Eye Associates. YOU CANNOT GET YOUR RECORDS WITHOUT PAYING EXORBITANT COSTS. The records department is NOT nice. I was in need of my records for some special testing that was done. I was told that it would cost me $29 and up. Being on a limited income I thought this was ridiculous. Patients have a right to their records, and I told them this. (It's one thing for the Dr. to say you're eyes are ok, it's another to have the piece of paper with all the values.) They said yes, they could tell me the results, but in order to have someone give me a paper printout it was $29. I was told I should have been given the results the day of the exam as I left. I wasn't. I went all the way to the top and spoke with the man who is over the billing/office. He wasn't buying. They could have handed me that paper and sent me on my way for the time it took them to say no so many times. End Result: They refused to give me a printout of the test results from the week before, and I left. I would imagine since I paid for the test, I was entitled to the paper record I could take home with me. NO. So, GET YOUR RECORD FOR YOUR VISIT BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE OFFICE. You will not be able to come back and get it for free. The RECORDS dept cares about their policy over customer need. Thus, only 3 stars.

Great experience with Dr. Risner and Heaton Eye Associates! Dr. Risner and the staff were so kind and welcoming despite the fact that I showed up late for my appt. Dr. Risner is very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining my exam. Highly recommend him and Heaton Eye!

I had LASIK yesterday, and today I can see so CLEARLY! I need a second vacation back yo the mountains so I can appreciate them more completely!I am so impressed with the professionalism, technology, warmth and friendliness of Heaton and their staff. I appreciate Jim and Dr. Muirhead for helping change my life! THANK YOU. :)
