I love this historic old hotel! It's been around for many years (and you get that feeling). But they have renovated their rooms and they are very nice! I've spent many nights here and they have very reasonable rates and they are close to almost everything. The staff are friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable. If your looking for a nice retreat or a simple overnight, you won't be disappointed staying here.

The Hotel Ottumwa is a wonderful, historic location. There are a few small things that keep it from being 5 star, though. Small repairs are needed throughout (holes in plaster, etc.) that keep it from truly being perfect. Most of the necessary repairs are small, and nothing that should prevent you from visiting, but I would love to see these issues addressed.

Nice historic hotel. Friendly staff. Restaurant is pretty good. Parking is easy! Bar on site. And competitive prices
