So pretty! The conference room was clean and set up perfectly. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The grounds were immaculate! There were bicycles, and watching the fishermen walk to lake was rough, did NOT want to be stuck in a work meeting watching them go to a beautiful lake, smiles. So far, this is the prettiest spot I have found in Iowa. I cannot wait to come and explore when it is not work related and I can wonder aimlessly around the forest, or stay in one of the cabins. Seriously, this resort seemed to have it all, and the rate seemed to be pretty fair!

Honey Creek was a nice resort with good themeing. Check-in went smoothly, and our room was nice. The only issue with our room was that the toilet was leaking. The water park was great for little kids. My son had the time of his life. The location isn't great, so we ate at the hotel's restaurant. It was slow... we waited 20 minutes to get a waitress and finally asked. It took over another hour to get our food. I wouldn't say it was busy either. Check out went fine. I will note that this resort has a resort fee that is currently not included in the final total online. I believe it's added after. Check-in is at 4p, and check out is at 11a. I would stay here again, due to the water park and the nice room. The location is tough, so I'd probably limit it to one night.

Prices for the food in the restaurant are steep for what you get. Had a fury little (Mouse) friend visit as well. When we told the staff they said they tried to get maintenance to take care of the problem but since they are so close to the lake and all... Said they would comp our meal the next night... Didn't happen. Sounded like there was a situation Saturday night at the restaurant as well, several guests had dinner comped for them due to something.
Otherwise the stay was quiet and our son liked the water park.

Honey Creek Resort is such a fantastic place to stay. We went as just a couple but I would suggest it more for families. The indoor water park really only seems like it's meant for kids. It has a hot tub but it was so scalding hot that we couldn't get in. The place also has bikes and kayaks for free to borrow and you can rent out boats and ski doos. We have yet to eat at the restaurant because we have heard nothing but horrible reviews from family who have stayed here in the past. They did give us two drink tickets for waving the housekeeping for a night which was great so we got to try out their bar last night. It was delicious and they were very nice.

Beautiful, secluded-feeling resort. It's in the middle of nowhere. The resort is right on the lake, so it's a pretty view. The biking trails are paved. There are tons of shells to find on the beach. The indoor pool is the highlight for my kids (ages 7 and under). The water temperature is acceptable, but I'm glad there's a hot tub to warm up in. The hot tub is open to kids, and is barely warmer than bath water, but it's a nice change from the colder pool.
The restaurant is TERRIBLE. Service is slow, but the main problem is the food is just awful. My kids ordered mac n cheese and wouldn't even finish it. I took a bite and understood why. I ordered the chicken pot pie... completely bland and flavorless. We brought all our own food for our second trip to Honey Creek.
