I liked most of this hotel. The room was spacious, Internet was fast. Great hot tub and there was even a wading pool for little ones which is a fantastic idea. Staff were all friendly. Breakfast was good too. But there were two things that ruined my stay. First, the bed was very soft and I woke up laying on a curve which left me with a sore back for most of the day. Second, the water was so oversoftened in the shower that it was impossible to tell if the soap had rinsed off which I can't stand. I know it's not the local water as I have stayed at other properties in the area without issues. Those two things ruined the stay because at the end of the day, a good night's sleep and a good shower are the top things I need from are hotel.

Great hotel and great staff! Mr. O'Connell, the GM, ensures all the staff are professional and everyone goes out of there way to make sure you are taking care of. A VERY Veteran Friendly hotel! Thank you so much Mr. O'Connell for always taking care of our veterans.

I just have to say this venue was so great for our daughter's wedding... Sheila the event planner helped in so many ways and they were very accommodating... I would recommend them for any event that I would plan in the future!

Attentive hospitality (even gave me an umbrella when I wasn't prepared). Clean. Good bar with decent dinner selection. And I loooove the fresh flavored water.

Great location for everything we did in West Des Moines. I got a suit with a whirlpool in it, which I needed to have maitnace come up to me room and fix it. And there we ants all over the whirlpool. Breakfast in the morning was not the greatest. I go to check out after breakfast and they tried to charge me an extra 50 dollars and when I booked this room on the phone they quoted me less. I confronted the mgr about this and she said there's nothing she can do. So we leave and say screw it we will just give you a bad rating online. So we get home a my phone rings and its the hotel saying we know why you were charged more than what they quoted, mind you they don't know that I wrote everything down when I booked the room. They said it was because of the breakfast was included with the room. I said really because the guy that Sat right next to us got charged 7 dollars for the buffet breakfast. The she said alright I will fix it and your card will see the difference in 5 to 7 days. Really it took all of that for you to give me what they first quoted me. Anything to make a few more dollars right. I will never be going to a Hilton Hotel again
