International Beauty Institute - Mississauga Campus

I attended IBI from Jan-April for the laser technician course. I am very happy with the education I received, having come in with zero prior experience in the beauty industry. My teachers were extremely knowledgeable and practical. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking to start a career in skin care or to receive quality treatments. I will definitely be back to further my training and take advantage of the services they offer in spa!

I makeup diploma at the International Beauty Institute it was for 3 months, I don’t feel like they helped me reach my goal which was beauty and glam they focused on special effects and I felt that the theory part took long time more than the practical module which I needed more , I had 3 photos for my graduation diploma, and I wasn’t even able to choose them because the photographer chose them for me, which bothered me. We were a class of 3 students which was a problem for me because we didn’t get a chance to practice on different skin tone or different faces, it was very limited we tried to talk with the collage management they didn’t actually help us. After our graduation we planed 3 of us to continue and take more courses after they told us that we will get a good discount but when I got serious about actually entering the next courses they completely disregarded the discount and they said that there is some misunderstanding but still the way of arguing was unacceptable.

I used to go here all the time for facials and I felt the students did a really good job. They took their time and provided a great experience. Not anymore!!!! I came two weeks ago for a scheduled appointment only to find out that the student esthetician didn’t show up, so they offered to give me a free facial if I came back two weeks later (point for them). I showed up today at 10 for my appointment. At 10:15 the student started and immediately told me she was in a hurry because she had another client at 11. She rushed through the whole treatment, didn’t let my face steam enough to facilitate good extractions, and didn’t include any décolleté work or massage. Not a good experience, I’ll start going back to George Brown (even though the location is way less convenient for me) for their services, which are significantly better.

Took their lash course Feb 2018 and I absolutely loved it, the teacher was super nice and gave me the confidence I needed to start my own business

I attended the make up certificate course and it was a fast track course. I was so disappointed with the final certificate I received and others looked pretty disappointed too. The class was good but if we're paying good money we expect a good presentable certificate. It looked like a print out and not an official certificate. There was no stamp on the certificate. Overall, it looked like a gimmick. I called the institute and they claimed that stamps were only for diploma's and not certificates. I have a friend who did a microblading certificate and recieved a proper certificate so why was mine so weird looking? I have taken courses at other institutes and they all have stamps on their certificates. I found that odd that this place doesn't. They did end up putting the stamp on but if I take a certificate course here and get an odd looking certificate in return..especially after paying loads of money..its highly disappointing. I wanted to take another course here but not anymore. I shouldnt have to ask for a stamp on my certificate or to make my certificate look presentable.
