I took my daughter there when she came in from Alaska. It was a great experience and to learn some of the history about the area was priceless.  It may not be an all day tour but it was definitely worth checking out.

Need to update hours, this place was closed today even though the hours said they were open.  Need to call ahead.   Edit: I was rushing the season, they are open now.

Must see for the history/machinery/geo, buff. Very nice stone, mineral, and fossil shop.

Such a fun, interesting, affordable tour.  Gift shop is amazing.  Set aside a lot of time to browse through a lot of cool stuff.  Staff is very friendly and accommodating to our needs.  Highly recommend!!!!
