We went on a winter trip in February (from Alabama) to see Lake Superior and the ice caves. We rented a cabin on the shore near Porcupine Mountain State Park and ended up spending 3 days skiing here, and had a blast with the kids. Had a 4-year-old and a 5-year-old who got to take lessons, and it worked out great for them. The prior year we had skied at Big Sky, and it was just too vast with the small children. We were so glad we found this place.

Hank: Its a lot nicer chalet than the website let's on! A lot of great tree skiing. Better than indianhead (terrain). George: good terrain, long runs, had a blast!

Overlooking Lake Superior, this hill offers the best view of any midwestern ski hill. All natural snow, always well-groomed.

My favorite ski hill in the Midwest. No snow machines, so all you get is lake-effect snow. Because of the lake-effect, we typically get at least 1-2 days of powder when we go up for a long weekend.
