Izzy's Ice Cream Cafe

This is a fantastic ice cream shop! The team there always seems to be in great spirits and the flavors are Delicious! You get an "Izzy scoop" with every order which is basically a smaller scoop of any flavor on top of your purchased scoops... What a great concept. Seating is available inside and out. In addition to scoops and dishes, you can also buy pints and other treats in their back cooler... And keep an eye out for their great sales!

Ice cream is fabulous! There is seating inside, but it's a pretty narrow space and would be difficult to have more than 3 or 4 at the handful of small tables. But if you can grab the benches in the very front corner just inside the door, there's probably room for 6 or so with great window light. The Izzy side cone is perfect for kids: cute, still plenty of ice cream and they can actually finish it before it starts melting down their hand and arm. Enjoy, it's a great place!!

Homemade ice cream in a million different creative flavors. (As well as vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate.) Be warned: the sundae is big enough for 2. It is on the spendy side for ice cream, but you get what you pay for.

Absolutely amazing waffle cones, great service. The Izzy scoop is fun, like a little fascinator of ice cream on your cone. Ice cream flavors are hit or miss, so be sure to ask for samples. Line can be long on a hot day.

Before going here, I heard a lot of claims. Claims including that this ice cream shop is one of the best in the country. It's true, Izzy's DOES have REALLY good ice cream, but I would NOT say it's the best I've ever had. Regardless, Izzy's has a wide variety of delicious, gourmet ice cream. I got Salted Caramel on a cone and I can say that was the best salted caramel ice cream I've ever had. It had just the perfect amount of saltiness. Furthermore, you can ask for a free sample of any flavor before you make your decision. If you're in the area, I recommend Izzy's. But if you're planning to drive to the cities SOLELY to try Izzy's, I just don't think it's worth it.
