Jiffy Lube

Went for a $50 oil change and tried to up sell us $400 worth of work. I am sure the staff is pressured to up sell hard from the owner based on what we saw them saying to other customers. Everyone needs new filters, new transmission fluid, new differential fluid, and so on. We bring our car for the manufacturer recommend work at the dealership and they don't find these things, wonder why? The oil change was fast, but I noticed that they only gave synthetic oil 5000km on the next required change. Again trying to get you back in sooner so they can up sell you. Synthetic is good for 10000km under normal operating conditions, don't let them fool you.

So unimpressed. Ridiculous prices. Went for a regular oil change as well but ended up paying for services i did not want. They only offered their package deal price with fluid top up filter check tire pressure check etc which i did not go in for. Should be more accomodating and listen to what the client is requesting instead of trying to milk us for more cash. Not going back again.

I was pretty happy until the "tech" showed my wife in the driver's seat that my air filter was due to be changed because it was apparently clogged. Odd since I had just replaced personally 5000k prior and it looked the part. It should have been knocked against a tire and put back in without a word. I get that they're trying to make money, but a bit of honesty and integrity would be nice. I quit letting quick lube places do my changes because of unscrupulous behavior and only went here because I was away from home on a long trip. When I got about a KM down the road, I thought I'd double check my oil filter and drain bolt. Filter was crazy tight and the drain plug slightly rounded as happens when a lazy or poorly trained tech doesn't bother to keep the socket fully engaged. Back to doing it myself or through a dealership.
