Found this bike shop through friends. It's a classic neighborhood bike store. I feel like Kirk's has a little bit of everything for everyone. The service is direct and to the point. The staff is respectful, and non-judgmental. I got my road bike there, used, and it's by far the best racing bike I ever had. It's what you would want in a bike store. I would definitely recommend it to people in the area.

People take for granted the value of a service-oriented local bike shop. Kirk's keeps my triathlon bike rocking and I appreciate their attention to detail and the ability to schedule service. Love my Trek!

I appreciate the service of the gentleman working the day we came in. Very knowledgeable staff that was able to come up with an inexpensive fix.

My father came in to Kirk’s earlier this month to inquire about having an old Schwinn Ecerciser, purchased there in the 70s, repaired. I’ll add that my parents have been customers of this store for decades. The young man told my dad there was nothing they could do and that he should just buy a $200+ set up to allow him to convert his regular bicycle into a stationary bike indoors. Thankfully, my elderly father (80+) was hesitant and discussed this with me before acting!! My husband and I own and use the “set up” my father was encouraged to purchase and were SHOCKED that anyone, especially anyone standing face to face with my father, would recommend such a purchase! While those set ups are wonderful for younger people, the fact that anyone would suggest this to someone my fathers age and physical condition is outrageous! I advised against the purchase and told him we’d have the broken bike looked at in Indy.
I drove to Muncie, loaded the bike, and proceeded south to have it looked at at our local BGI Fitness that we’ve used for years. Upon entry I was directed to the service area where the gentleman assessed the situation, and found a functioning replacement alternative (since Schwinn no longer makes parts for the Exerciser) online for $20 and some change! When he said it would take about $11-13 for labor, I laughed and gave the go ahead. FOUR DAYS later I picked up the repaired bike and drove it back to Muncie.
It’s a sad day when the store my family always trusted can’t be bothered to help an elderly man find a reasonable, SAFE, solution to a simple problem. To be clear, my father did NOT have the bike with him when he went to inquire about fixing it...it was far too heavy and awkward for him to do so...but why couldn’t the salesperson assess the situation when my dad explained the cable had snapped and attempt to provide a solution? Very disappointing. Needless to say. we are no longer Kirk’s customers.

Cleaning my chain last night I realized my chain is VERY worn. Once again the crew at Kirk's had the chain in stock!!! Stocked up on cleaner and lube and ready for the ride. Support the local businesses or you will not be able to just pick up your supplies locally.
