Cute dining room, small menu, even smaller bar. I hope you like your table neighbors' conversations because you will be sitting very close to them. The romantic element is dispelled by the tight table situation. I wish they would move into a larger space because they could fill out a larger dining room and at this price point, it would be better to dine comfortably.
Hit or miss on entrees, depending on the night and season. Same for service, sometimes it takes forever, other times it's great. All the time the bar is slow and over loaded. My last experience there was wonderful. They had a pasta dish with radicchio and pine nuts that was truly wonderful.

This place isn't cheap but it always delivers. Well worth it. As a local I'd rather skip a couple of casual meals and go have one I know is going to be great . Menu for all dietary needs, great wait staff and authentic farm to table. Try it you won't sorry.

This place is Organic. Literally. Right from the beer to the food ingredients. Everything has been so meticulously taken care of here - the decor, the courteousness of the staff, the food.
A visit to Montpelier is incomplete without a visit to Kismet.

The absolute best brunch menu in central Vermont! Multiple eggs Benedict variations and they are all delicious. Huevos rancheros, Portuguese fish cakes, and an amazing drink list make this mine and my fiancee favorite brunch location. They also own the butcher shop Beau down the road a bit that has the best (you'll pay for it) steaks in the area hands down.

Kismet is one of those rare finds - a true farm-to-table restaurant serving seasonal foods well prepared, imaginative and delicious. Seating is a bit limited so plan to make reservations if you are more than one or two people. There is a full service bar and the drinks are generous. The kitchen sits at the back of the restaurant and is open so you can see food being prepared by the chefs. Plenty of vegetarian offerings in addition to locally grown, organic grass fed beef, lamb and other meats mean you get to experience the best of Vermont's local production. Highly recommended.
