Reviews
So I see several reviews (many from the same person) talking about how they were guaranteed a spot for their XX foot camper, or guaranteed a "full hookup" spot, worst experience ever, etc. As a camper with a seasonal spot at this campground, I feel compelled to respond with my own review.
This, as with most (all?) Thousand Trails campgrounds, is a first-come, first-served campground. There ARE full hookup spots, and there ARE many sites with water views, and there ARE many sites which can accommodate large campers. What there is NOT is an endless supply of each. If you arrive here on a Friday afternoon in the summer expecting to find one of those, you may very well be disappointed.
This is a rustic campground. It's wooded and management carefully controls decades-old trees being cut down to eliminate pine needles or create a slightly bigger site. As for the roads, do I sometimes wish they were paved? Sure. Am I more often thankful they're NOT because it helps controls the speed of people flying around in cars and trucks in a family campground? Absolutely.
Is this a perfect campground? No, and I've never seen one that is. If you're coming from an asphalt perfectly level with no trees campsite in Florida, you're probably not going to like it. If you want a campground with character, charm, friendly staff and lots of people who consider each other family and have been coming here for 20 years, then this is the place.

Love it. Very peaceful and the sunset views are spectacular over the lake. Very friendly staff always willing to help.

Caution: no Wi-Fi, no septic, and very poor Verizon signal. Lots of tightly packed trees and it is not big rig friendly.
Absolutely gorgeous. We got a spot about 50 feet from the water. The people were both funny and friendly. The sun sets over the lake are Beyond spectacular They are opening up A section that will allow for larger rigs, but it's not there yet. This new section will have septic. Until then it is a $10 fee for each honeywagon visit.

Gorgeous resort, just due to the terrain, internet access is challenging. The dream is to work on the lake and personal satellite is pricy, but coming soon
