Can't visit this place too often. The main trail is about 8.1 miles. There are several cutoffs so you have a few options to avoid doing the entire loop. There are also a couple additional loops. Do the "Sugar Loop" if you are up for a challenge. They recently added some nice signs that help you navigate the forks. Buddy system and helmet advised especially if you're new to the trail. It starts out fairly simple but near the loop back gets a little more technical. Most riders can handle this trail. Be aware of faster riders and move over for them. Runners go in the opposite direction as riders so watch for them as well. Use your best judgement... If it's too muddy postpone your ride.

We were looking for a place to have lunch and relax, and discovered this spot. Still within earshot of a busy town, but far enough away to feel like it's in nature this is the start if two trailheads that follow the river path. If I had more time I would have taken a longer stroll down the path. There is a fairly steep boat ramp where boats can be launched for paddling down the river. I was there in early winter. All the trees were naked and the sun was playing hide n seek with the clouds. It was a little chilly and very windy. But lots of natural formations to gawk at and photo opportunities left and right. If you are a mountain biker the trail comes highly recommended. Or as a hiker. Each trail is separate so that hikers and bikers won't crash into each other. I think it's a brilliant idea. I spend time on pathways in Topeka and have to scoot aside to allow bikes to pass me. A separate path appeals to me. I can't wait to see the place in the spring time!

Great place to run. Easy trails if it is your first time running on trails.

Beautiful river trails for both hiking and biking. Not recommended for street bikes, the trail is a little rough. Keep an eye out for the stairs that lead down to the edge of the river.

If you plan on bringing a bike here make sure you're prepared to deal with goat heads.
