Leon County Humane Society

First off, almost everyone who gave this place a bad review were mad because they weren't chosen to adopt an animal. I love this place! I've worked closely in and out of this humane society for over a year now and I wouldn't rather work anywhere else! I am a kitten foster mom, I've fostered 20 kittens so far and I have watched each one go to amazing families! I have always been given all the supplies I need to give these foster babies good lives while they stay with me and all have been given the best veterinary care possible. Both the cat foster coordinator Deidre and the dog foster coordinator Amy are amazing and caring women who truly love these animals and go out of their way to make sure they are all taken care of. Being of the other side of the adoption process, I can say from experience that every kitten is different and some times need different types of homes. People have come in wanting an animal(most of the time based primarily on how they look) and are then found by the staff to not be the right home for that dog or cat. They don't get chosen, get mad, go online and write a bad google review. It's sad and unfortunate because many of them don't come back for another cat who they might be perfect for. Point is, this humane society is 100% committed to saving animals and giving them a successful adoption.

I really admire their work. Their offices are super nice and homey. It gives you hope got those little pets.

This place has some of the most caring and loving people! We adopted a large dog and named her Bella! We are very pleased with the whole adoption process and the support from the shelter. We love our new family member and she definitely has a forever home! Thanks to all of the staff and volunteers, you are awesome!

Very accommodating group of people. Always willing to accept donations for their animals. Go adopt a cat!
