Long Branch State Park

Loved tent camping here! First time and nothing bad to say. We had a great time. Very well kept and designed. Nice wooded tent camping sites. Camp host was very knowledgeable and polite. We we will back!

I came here to hike, and it was okay. I did the longest trail in the park on the peninsula. The trails are well-marked and easy to follow, even if they are a bit forced to add length. If you like lake views and prairie, you'll like it, but it's 7.5 miles of the same thing. Not much variety and nothing spectacular. Maybe the Ozarks have spoiled me, though. Not a bad hike--gets the job done.

Great State Park with everything you need. Ginormous lake with great fishing, lots of nature trails, amazing sandy beach with a roped off area for swimming, clean well maintained shower facility & restrooms & spectacular views everywhere. Covered 2 seasons in 5 days. Arrived on Sunday with snow & by Thursday it was 79 and plenty of sunshine. Included are a few pictures of the largest controlled burn I've ever seen.

We have enjoyed each time we have been to Long Branch. The hosts were very nice and helpful, the facilities were clean, and every campsite was clean and located nicely all along or very close to the lake. The beach area is also nice with a store and facilities close. We plan to go as often as time will allow.

Just a great place to spend the day or week. Love this place.
