MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub

We were planning on eating at a different establishment when we passed through Rapid City about 4 years ago. Although, my husband asked the person at the front desk what his recommendation for a good place to eat was. He said Mackenzie’s was really good. So we went there, and loved the food. My husband and I are the fish tacos and a hummus dish. Then for my mother I took a meatloaf to go ( she was at the hotel). She REALLY liked it. Nice atmosphere, good service and great food!

I mostly sit at the bar when I go. The lights and bar atmosphere are amazing. I ate there tonight for the first time in three weeks and the bartender working only once before, Heather, remembered I order water with my beer/food. She's by far the best/friendliest server I've encountered in 13 years being in this area. The food has always been good and with staff like her, I'll keep coming back.

This was our first time at this restaurant. The place is really nice inside. We were seated in the bar area next to the windows. The sun shines right in your face in this section. Didn't really like that too much. Our server was Richard. He was very over attentive to the point of being inappropriate with his conversation choices and annoying because he just would not give us any space to enjoy our meal. He talked to us for over 5 minutes before even taking a drink order. His personal hygiene is questionable as well. A very unpleasant order came from him. The food was pretty good. We may try this place again but will defiantly not let Richard be our server again.

Restaurant wasn’t extremely busy so the poor service we received tonight was very disappointing. My order was wrong but the server rarely stopped by the table for me to let them know.I ended up keeping the meal I was given. My eight year old ordered dessert but after 25 minutes of waiting we cancelled the dessert and asked for the check so we could just leave. To add insult to injury the server told his manager we were in a hurry and that’s why it needed to be cancelled. This was our second time visiting, same service. Bottom line, not worth the wait, there are several better restaurants to choose from in Rushmore crossing so don’t waste your time.

The music was good. The fries were awesome! The service was okay, our server forgot my drink and my daughter's fruit. We waited 45 minutes for our food with just three of us and the table of six seated after us was served their food 10 minutes before we got ours.
