Merchants River House

The staff is exceptional regardless of how bust they may be. Each person greets you with a smile and attempt toake your time spent there enjoyable. Excellent Brunch on Sunday; cannot best the view.

Cool place, nice view, but they forgot one order and it took almost 30 minutes until they brought us a pitcher. It was a quiet busy day, so I'm ok with that. Nevertheless nice restaurant.

14/10. great mac and cheese and mashed potatoes had perfect amount of salt. it had a few minor chunks but that's expected. if you're outside you might see a few dogs (mostly big dogs) and sometimes you see them along the street but all look very friendly and they look so cute. you'll see a big clock in Jersey City across the river and if night it looks great. the pretzels are absolutely gigantic. there are seats inside and outside. I was going to sit outside but there was rain expected in 15 minutes and it got very very windy. I had a corner table near the door where the dogs come out, and there was a wall (plastic or glass ontop of a metal bottom section). since our food had not arrived yet they let us transfer ourselves inside. speaking of the food again, the food arrived in a flash of lightning. about ten minutes. the napkins they give you are durable and square inside you want to make a bunny while waiting. there's a few hotels very near by. salt comes out at a normal rate, which is very rare in restaurants. they clean your table up fast. just beware my table was very wiggly and I almost broke a glass

I hate to give this place low rating since I eat here all the time and the service is great. But I just feel like lately the food has not been great. I used to love their Mac n cheese but was very disappointed today I had it. Was very bland. Also we ordered mussels and disappointed. The mussels itself were just not good. We ordered seafood platter (special menu) a couple of months ago and it was so bad we didn’t even want to finish 3/4 of it. I’m willing to give this place a few more tries but they do need to improve.

Best fried calamari in the city. Fish and chips, spinach dip and everything else is pretty great. Daria the bartender is awesome, Charles the manager is wonderful. Love this place.
