On one hand I have a roof over my head, with new carpet, a fresh coat of paint, nice kitchen appliances (no microwave), and a balcony to enjoy my coffee on in the morning. On the other hand, some of the management team is nosey and passive aggressive. I agree with the other reviews in that they are constantly making up new rules or just “forgot” to tell you things when you moved in. For example, now that I’ve been here for a year my rent just went up. Surprise! I understand taxes go up every year but they should specifically tell you that you're not locked into a price. Yes, your car will get towed because there’s not enough parking. If you’re late on your rent expect to pay a huge $200 fee. You have to pay for a $10 key fob to use the “free” amenities. And the laundry is $1.75 a load. If something is broken in your apartment, good luck. I hope you’re handy. Don’t get me wrong, all of the maintenance guys are very capable, friendly men. It’s just that we have to go through a third party service to actually get one of them to our apartment to fix anything. Added bonus, there’s a rotting banana in the hallway that’s been there for at least 3 weeks. They definitely prey on people in need. It makes me sad. Back in the day Meeting House Village use to be such a nice place. Shame on you Merritt Station. Hire better cleaning ladies and salt ALL the walkways before someone gets hurt.
UPDATE; I’m happy to report that it seems like management reads our reviews. I wrote my original post about two weeks ago and already I noticed a new cleaning person (no more banana). And they salted ALL of the walk ways this past storm. Hopefully they will explain things more clearly for new comers. And just remember apartment life isn’t for everybody.

My boyfriend and I moved into our apartment in August. I really enjoy living here! The apartments are close to route 15 and also close to Wallingford, where there are tons of restaurants and shopping plazas. I find the staff to be really friendly and helpful! When we have an issue (which is rare) they are quick to respond. I don’t know why people have complained about dogs in previous posts, when it’s clear the community is dog friendly. There are poop bags and trash cans near every lawn. The apartment itself is clean and they gave us a new carpet before we even moved in. Yes, the appliances are somewhat older, but who cares ? They work just fine! For our first place it’s perfect!

My stay at Merritt Station has been a complete disaster. They prey on low income families and create new rules/regulations to make life more difficult. I thought, perhaps they have good intentions, though threw a series of events I have come to realize the women working in the office at Merritt Station, Rhonda, Debbie and Jackie, are evil people. They don't care about you. Their motto is that they value residence but really they are more interested in making shady deals with companies like D&L towing to ruin your life. I sincerely believe the people working in the office of Merritt Station are what is wrong with the world. They are on the side of "rich get richer and poor get poorer". This might sound dramatic but I guarantee after a month of living here you would know that these people are awful. Their office closes whenever they want. Most of the time one person is there, and its not the person who can help your situation. I've lived here for almost 2 years and feel that I'm being treated like a prisoner.
General Issues: Outrageous demands for parking. No long term parking. Disorganized information about parking. Upcharge on laundry. Garbage everywhere. Inability to own up to their mistakes. Internet will never be as good as you pay for. Limited TV options due to their partnership with Dish.
If you're interested in fancy slum lords this place is for you! As long as you don't mind domestic violence in the halls ways weekly.

I moved into the new building at Merritt Station and my place is gorgeous. Stainless steel, washer dryer in the apartment and brand new. My neighbors are friendly and the woman Jackie I dealt with was professional and made my husband and I giggle had a great sense of humor. So far, so good!
